Make no mistake, removing the CDC recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines for kids and pregnant women is going to kill people, and it will disproportionately affect people who cannot afford to pay for vaccines out of pocket.

Do not forget that this decision was made without a confirmed CDC Director.

Just in NIH grants, It looks like beautiful Iowa City, home of the U of Iowa, will lose $71m in funding. That's almost $1k per resident. And that's before all the other cuts to SSA, FDA, etc.

Anyone in Iowa City that can offer more insight?

It should not fall on a British journal to speak out about threats to science in the United States. Leading US medical journals, such as JAMA, the New England Journal of Medicine, and others should issue a joint statement in defense of scientific independence.
