Get off-line and call a friend or loved one soon. Maybe go take a walk or out for a meal with them. Betting you'll be glad you did.
Labels, oy!: Hold the same political opinions you've ever held for decades, you'll be called "a lefty", "left" or "leftist" as the "right" continues to get more extreme, because the left-right paradigm is fluid. Oh, well. Preferably labels would be "law abiding", "peace-loving", "kind", "patriotic".

So many in media are ill-equipped to interview officials about what’s happening because they begin with the presumption of legitimacy and don’t know enough about history or U.S. foreign policy to foment intelligent pushback and hold officials accountable.

What an odd thing for a news outlet to be proclaiming as a key value. Sure, journalists can be proud Americans but journalism is about more than that including being brutally honest -not pollyanish or dishonest- about the country.
Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

First, Tony Dokoupil promises to cover the stories the right wing thinks got underplayed ( hunter biden's laptop & Russiagate).

Now CBS News is promising both sides coverage. Translation: Trump lies & the actual truth will get equal play. That's not how journalism is supposed to work.

Me, neither. An incompetent, insensitive, and already quite wealthy dude playing pickup sticks with our lives and journalism while he cashed his checks.
I will never forgot the all-staff meeting after layoffs were announced where someone asked Moog whether he considered taking a pay cut himself (no, of course) — and why reporters and producers had to pay for CPM’s financial woes, instead of the people (ahem, him) who caused them. This is so gross.
