I have new favourite aerosol chemicals: Sonax's contact cleaner. Your can spaff it into camera's that have shonky dials and the dials just end up working like new. Already fixed my Lumix LX100's back dial, a Leica D-Lux 5's control dial and an Olympus OM-D E-M1's notoriously unreliable back dial.

So the nazi party came in second to the libs here in NL and Wilders is throwing a temper tantrum. Not happy about how much of the vote was right wing, but at least no PVV in government.

Sold my Olympus OM-D E-M1 to my dad and picked up a buggered Fuji X-Pro1 to replace it. Just need to somehow repair a broken tiny flex cable that connects the board with the on/off switch to the no longer gross & water damaged mainboard (ultrasonically cleaned in distilled water & cleaning agent)

I keep forgetting I have an account here lmao. Anyways, I recently full spectrum converted my old Sony A7 so I can mess around with IR photography. Got two filters off aliexpress, one that gives me SOOC Kodak Aerochome and a 830nm IR pass filter for B&W :3

My desktop speakers have been buggered for a while, so I thought I needed to fix it by replacing all the capacitors. Turns out I could have just run it off the line out of my headphone amp and now it just sounds better too lmao

I got brand new Canon Selphy CP1000 portable printer for real cheap. Watching this thing print images is so fun, because it does it in layers and does 4 passes through the printer. It's also so adorable compared to my A2 printing monster.

I hate how badly instagram heats up my phone. Are they mining bitcoin in the background? All 9 cores on my Pixel 8 Pro are just fully slammed. Reinstalled it today and now it no longer uncomfortable to hold my phone, but it still gets way hotter than it should.

As much as I hate the current boom in unethically trained generative AI, I do like AI when done 'properly', like Adobe's AI Denoise in Lightroom. It works so well. Both these edits started from the same RAW from my Lumix LX100.

Fixed another E-M5 Mk. II yesterday, and also fixed a dead Lumix G X Vario 12-35 f/2.8. Thought the lens might have the well known AF flex cable issue, but the electronic contact bar wasn't plugged in somehow, probably someone already fixed it and forgot to plug the bar back in LMAO.

I also forgot that Olympus yeets out any saved settings after a firmware update and had my E-M1 set to mid quality JPEG. Luckily Olympus has pretty decent JPEGs

Finally tested the E-M1 properly today with a Lumix 25mm. Will probably try to find a buggered Olympus 12-40 2.8 to fix to pair with it, but I am so happy it works like a charm. Shutter replacement in fiddly, but not that hard tbh.

It lives! Replaced the shutter in the dead OM-D E-M1 I bought and it fired right up :3 Fixing things is fun. Now to get a lens (prolly a Lumix 25 1.7) to use with this. Rear dial is buggered, but I generally shoot in aperture priority so, eh.

💔 This is just so heartbreaking. I am looking on in astonished horror of how quickly trans people's lives have gotten worse in the US. It's a privilege to live in NL, where discrimination against trans people is illegal according to the ground law (NL equivalent of constitution)
