A few reminders about the SCOTUS immunity decision for Presidents:

It does not provide immunity for prior crimes.

It does not provide immunity to the President's cabinet.

Similar to Roe v. Wade, it can be overturned in the future.

MORE from Jack Smith:

"Our investigation also developed powerful evidence that showed President Trump willfully retained highly classified documents after he left office in January 2021 ... He then repeatedly tried to obstruct justice to conceal his continued retention of those documents."
BREAKING on MS NOW:

Jack Smith, in his opening statement to House Judiciary, says:

"Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and to prevent the lawful transfer of power."

Jack Smith to Judiciary Cmte re: obtaining toll records of Senate GOP members from Jan 6

"Trump & his associates tried to call Members of Congress in furtherance of their criminal scheme, urging them to further delay certification of the 2020 election. I didn’t choose those Members; Pres Trump did”

All of us hope that the Trump administration follows the law and releases the Epstein files on Friday. But there are very good reasons to be skeptical of whatever the Trump administration releases.

I’ll share a few reasons why.
Epstein files are due to be released Friday.

As officer Daniel Hodges sat at the witness table of a recent Senate subcommittee hearing, Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT) asked the witnesses to raise their hands if they supported the pardons of Jan 6 rioters, including those who beat officer Hodges

Kristi Noem is guilty of crimes against humanity and needs to face justice.

📌 She made the final call to defy a court order to halt deportation flights, sending people into the hellscape of CECOT, a place the UN has compared to a torture chamber.

Prosecute her and everyone involved.

Quite the pre-Thanksgiving news: Mayor Muriel Bowser will not seek a fourth term in office. That's a huge opening a mayoral race that still doesn't have any major candidates in it, but with possible entries from Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George and At-Large Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie.

This allows Trump (via DOJ) to use taxpayer money to bribe eight GOP Senators. It's that simple, there's no other way to describe it.

And where's the compensation for people injured by the Trump admin's unlawful conduct through DHS & DOGE?

Take a bow, @schumer.senate.gov, you did this.

I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.

@schumer.senate.gov you are a coward and complete EMBARRASSMENT. The GOP isn't going to cooperate and the last month and change will be a complete waste.
