It sounds like all those scientists at the CDC that Russ Vought was bragging about laying off are now being asked to take their jobs back.

I guess studying and preventing the spread of contagious diseases isn’t “too woke” after all.

💥 did a small drawing explaining the JS execution model including the event loop. I hope it’s helpful to folks. Debugging is always easier when the underlying implementations are understood.

If you’re white, your accomplishments are your own and you can resent and criticize the country all you like, but if you’re black and successful you should be grateful to white people for allowing you in their presence. bsky.app/profile/jess...

Weaponized gratitude is a key tool in the abuser's toolkit. The goal is to convince the victim that they owe the abuser so much, they should feel guilty for wanting to complain.
Tweet from the VP:
Joy Reid has had such a good life in this country. It's been
overwhelmingly kind and gracious to her. She is far wealthier than most.
Yet she oozes with contempt.
My honest, non-trolling advice to Joy Reid is that you'd be a much
happier person if you showed a little gratitude

We don't say often enough that moguls who support Trump are stupid marks who are being played for chumps, and it's obvious to anyone with two brain cells. That's a point that's worth making in any factual, objective look at their context. www.anildash.com/2025/09/09/h...

Even now, in Sept of 2025, there are people that just read what I wrote, and are feeling similarly angry at me for suggesting that Biden caused harm, as Charlie Kirk fans are at Dems for suggesting that he did harm.🤷🏿‍♂️

100% overlap between "Angry Biden stans," and not knowing what he did to Black men

Tesla’s board is going on a press tour to convince shareholders to vote to give Elon Musk a trillion dollar paycheck.

I don’t think a more compromised board has existed in the entirety of history.

Marvel Studios leaving Georgia and taking all its productions to the UK because they don’t have to pay for employees’ health insurance there due to universal healthcare is a valuable lesson for America.

We’ll ignore it but the lesson still stands. Universal healthcare creates jobs.

One thing many are yet to internalize is that this is Trump’s last term which means he isn’t beholden to anyone. Not the voters. Not the Republican Party. And not his legacy.

He just cares about wielding power and enriching his family. There are no constraints or guardrails left.

Wild to me that a CEO sets goals about outcomes that have nothing to do with the business (are customers more satisfied? Is the product more reliable? Etc.)

Setting the goal of what % of code should be AI-generated is as useful as setting the goal of how many lines of code devs should write per day
