Just another day in Paradise!
AirPod pros 2 updated this morning for the live translations. I tested out listening to a YouTube immersive learning Spanish conversation and while I’m not sure it caught everything, it got enough for me to be able to understand the conversation and keep up with it. A+ Apple 🍎

If we want to stop political violence, we need accountability, honesty, and a real reckoning with how much harm has been excused in this country.
create. We can hold both truths: violence should not be normalized or excused, and at the same time, we must acknowledge the hypocrisy of those who defend violent systems until the moment it touches their own side.
hate, division, and blocking every attempt at gun reform while excusing violence when it suited his politics. That’s why many people can condemn what happened without pretending he was innocent. Actions and rhetoric have consequences, and we can’t separate this moment from the culture he helped
resistance movements — sometimes violence did change things, for better or worse. Pretending it’s never been “the answer” is simply untrue. The question is whether it should be the answer in a society that claims to believe in democracy and peaceful change. Charlie Kirk spent his career spreading
I’ll say this clearly: political violence is not the way forward in a democracy. It’s destructive, destabilizing, and it tears societies apart. What happened to Charlie Kirk is not something to celebrate. But let’s also be honest: violence has always been part of history. Revolutions, wars,
Sometimes… violence is the only answer. It’s the paradox of tolerance.

Dem leaders need to get in front of a camera every single day, stare directly into it, and promise that every single instance of defamation, abuse of office, and unconstitutionality will be dealt with some day, and that Trump’s pardon power can’t universally shield them from consequences.

This is no different than how Hitler operated. First he deported the populations he didn’t like, then he criminalized their existence, then he rounded them up in ever-widening categories of who was deemed “not sufficiently German.” Jews, political dissidents, queers, Romani…the list kept growing.

I cannot emphasize enough how true & real this is.

In almost anywhere on the political spectrum you ID with or major issue, there’s probably a bot/troll operation to encourage your rage and vitriol.

And how/where that rage gets directed, esp understandable rage, is what they are out to influence.
People on this app get really angry every time I point out that social media manipulation is a real phenomenon that we are all stewing in and that’s having real world consequences and I’m sure part of that is engagement farmers who do that manipulation not liking people talking about it

Dissent is patriotic.

We have a right to disagree and dissent with those in power and demand a better world.
Correct. I’m clowning on a clown take. 🎪
Yes, people can have opinions. And I can have the opinion that theirs is hilariously overwrought. If someone frames smart glasses like they’re a civil rights issue, they shouldn’t be surprised when people respond like it’s a comedy set.
Ah yes, the great moral struggle of our time: disliking AI sunglasses. Thank you for your bravery. As a liberal who actually gives a damn about real issues, I’m begging you to stop pretending Ray-Bans with cameras are the frontline of justice.
It’s this kind of performative BS that makes people hate the left. Who can be the most outraged at something that literally doesn’t affect you in the least bit.
Ok to fangirl out a bit! Im in MN for Pride with my partner and I happened to meet That Midwestern Mom while she was here for it too. And I got a pic with her!

My most liberal take is that I’m low key totally for running this administration out of government by force. There’s more of us than there are of them.
