I feel bad for Demko but it's kind of a nothing burger for where the Canucks are at. If the Canucks were actually competitive this year for a last ditch shot at a Hughes extension it'd be a different story. Signing Demko for a bigger money on shorter term should be viewed as a mitigated gamble.

I don't know who needs to know this, but pragmatism is an asset, perhaps this will seem contradictory if you only view things in black and white ideological terms.
