Yeah... 3 dead, 9 shot. Coast Guard managed to capture him after an hour.
Southport NC boat shooter from last night was also an Iraq War veteran, too. (fun fact, I was at that restaurant 2 weeks ago)
Also likely Georgia's deadliest hurricane since 1898.
It was the deadliest South Carolina hurricane since 1893 Sea Islands hurricane. It blows people's minds when I point that out.

the groypers sure seem to think Charlie Kirk was killed by a groyper
incredible stuff happening
Sharing these from X... but markings on bullet castings is a huge clue to which group the assassin associated himself with. They're all subtle Groypers references.
Ben Noll's analysis on humidity trends seems to back up my own personal observations that our North Carolina summers are now significantly more humid than even 15 years ago. #NCwx
For August, there's a huge area of 3-4°F below normal for *AVERAGE* temperature from Alabama to New Jersey. It's quite impressive.
August has been historically cool for high temperatures across the Southeast. First half was mostly due to rainy events and then we got a few major cold fronts right after that. Mostly lucky timing to keep high temperatures down. #NCwx #SCwx #VAwx #GAwx
Trump is likely alive and just resting. But I do believe he has a minor to moderate disease of some sort. Likely enough to stop him from trying to run for an unconstitutional third term in 2028. There's a lot of smoke at this point.
Huge Blue Ridge Parkway milestone post #Helene. BRP is once again fully open and restored between Asheville and Great Smoky Mountains NP. It's a major tourism boost for WNC with the fall foliage season coming up. #NCwx
Latest flight data is supportive of keeping it at 155 mph Category 4... for now. Still need a tiny bit more to get a Category 5. #Erin
Call this for what it is... Israel's war of annihilation on Gaza.
For another comparison, there's also an aerial view from a similar perspective, though at lower altitude since it's from a drone photographer, here on Facebook from 2019: www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=...

The drone photo is closer to 31.5057, 34.4619 whereas the plane photo is closer to the coast.
He went to my high school and... my lord... he was trucking down seniors as a freshman at 14.
Love that I'm under that teal circle near Raleigh 😅😅😅

#Chantal brought 7-12" or rain over part of NC, which corresponds to almost TWO MONTHS of rain in just 24 hours.

Also, about 400 square miles experienced a 1 in 100 year flooding event

All true:

- NOAA funding cuts prohibit the agency to run at full capacity
- Remaining NOAA employees doing exceptional / heroic work
- Extreme events happen; sometimes unexpectedly
- 20th century infrastructure is inadequate for today's climate
- Finger pointing as an event is ongoing? Shameful.
If I'm reading this correctly... NOAA is proposing reduction of 2456 positions across the agency.
Durham might be the most progressive city in the state along with Asheville. Not sure why that replier even tried.
11/10 social media work by the Durham Bulls
Did Raleigh make the top 50 list? I feel like RDU is decent for a major airport.
This is just awful.
Some former employees of the NOAA who were fired, rehired and fired again this spring say they have received debt notices from the federal government to pay it back for health care coverage.

Those workers also say the notices are for coverage they never had.
Fired, rehired and fired again, some NOAA employees get letters demanding money
Three former NOAA employees told NBC News they had received debt notices from the federal government for health care coverage.

Yeah, Obama basically bombed Libya and Iraq without oversight. Led us to here. Ultimately, this is still the combined legacy of administrations back to GWB. Maybe even Clinton with first flare ups with Middle Eastern groups.
Pushing on presidential powers to conduct drone warfare is one of biggest mistakes that Obama made, IMO. Opened up too much modern executive powers.
I'm a liberal and I will be the first to acknowledge that Obama pushing on presidential powers to conduct air strikes was a big Congressional mistake. Free up for future presidents like Trump to do this.
