Apparently my former MS committee member is involved here, truly not surprised. I spent 7 years at SELU and had nothing but a horrible experience. Toxic people in a toxic place apparently 🤷‍♀️
A university scientist who discovered alarming levels of toxic chemicals in a lake in southeastern Louisiana was abruptly removed from her research position this week without explanation

I am excited to welcome #Botany2025 to my big backyard in the California desert. I kicked off the conference with a field trip up the Palm Springs tramway to explore the beautiful flora of the San Jacinto Mountains. I hope everyone enjoys Palm Springs!

Hey #botany2025 friends, is anyone going to the conference who wants to volunteer to be the "host" of the Botanists of Color affinity group meetup? The initial host can't attend the meetings :( Being host = being the contact person w/ BSA, and maybe saying a few welcome statements before event.

What a tragic loss. Shu-Mei was such a kind, incredibly smart, and truly empathetic mentor. Such a joyful person.

I’m so grateful to have known her. She so patiently walked me through my first conference poster. Later, she was a vital member of my graduate committee.

She will be so missed.
