anyway i think my point is pocket has been such an awful thing for the health of the game and i'm still so pissed it did as well as it did. the real game has suffered so much from it existing because it did just kinda prove to tpc that they don't need to prioritise players to sell shitloads of cards

the mechanic itself isn't. fun? and combine the lack of anything fun or new to play with pokemon's refusal to ban problem cards means we've been stuck with a meta that's hardly changed at all in a full year now and. i'm gonna be real it's kind of lame as shit actually!

i like wish i could be more excited about mega evolution but god it feels way too much like another filler set than the start of a new block. we don't need more sets with 90% nothing cards, the game needs some sort of shake-up so so bad rn and this just. isn't enough for that

going to TCG events regularly helped so much but I'm so tired of the Pokémon TCG being treated as a collectable rather than a game recently. and even if I tried to ignore it I am cursed with Small Town Disease of my local scene being the same 2-3 cis dudes every week at a card shop I can't stand

Wanted to post this little thing I wrote a month or two back as a sort of stream-of-consciousness no second-guessing it or changing it once I've written it type exercise to get myself to just write something. And I'm still really happy with how it came out and want to share it somewhere :)

How does one begin to write on love. How many words can you take such a concept and force it down to. It is the knowing that you are here. It is the meat under her fingertips and the blood on your lips. It is the safety to let yourself hurt. To let yourself bleed. To let yourself be loved. To let yourself.

It is the pressing of fingers on your chest. It is the flesh giving way as you're pressed deeper into, it is your sinew and it is your teeth and it is your blood. Love is a punch in the gut. Love is your guts in her hands. Your entire being pulled apart and lay bare. You are loved, and you will bleed, and it will hurt, but you have to let it hurt, and you have to let yourself bleed, and you have to let yourself be loved.

And you have to let yourself.

You've taken so long to figure all of it out. To let yourself love. To let yourself be loved. It hurts, and to be hurt is to be worth loving. But you're scared of that, aren't you. It's always easier to just block it all out, to pretend it does not hurt, to pretend you cannot bleed, not I, not ever.

And it hurts anyway. But a different hurt. That isn't love.

You have to let yourself love yourself. You have to rip out your organs and look at each of them, grotesque and leaking and blackened by a lifetime without care. And you have to whisper to each of them, you have to hold them in your hands and you have to kiss them before you put them back in. Can you do that for me. Can you let yourself be loved?

Love is going to hurt you. But it is not a painful hurt. It is a reminder that you are here, you were real, you bled and you were bled and you held and you were held. And you were loved. And you loved. It is going to hurt but you will hold her.
And her hands run through your hair.
And her hands run through your hands.
And her hands run through your ribs.
And her hands take your heart.
And her hands.

I hope this finds you as everything is torn apart and you are left unsure of where you begin and the nerves and the sweat and the meat and the teeth all begin.

But above all, I hope this finds you.

How does one begin to write on love. How many words can you take such a concept and force it down to. It is the hands upon your shoulders as you're pulled in for warmth. It is the coffee going cold on the table as you've forgotten it was even there to begin with. It's the sharing of a bed for the first time, knowing that space will never feel any less empty than it does now ever again.

Love is a hurting, it is a bleeding. You can't love without hurt, without blood, because the pain is how you know it's all real. And it's so very, painfully real. It hurts to say goodbye. Of course it does. But there's a hurt in greetings, too. It is supposed to hurt. You are supposed to bleed.

How does one describe being loved. It is your hair on the floor of the bathroom of some cheap hotel. It is the hands upon your head as you get used to it all. It is the red shirt you fish out every time you see her, the one you wore when you first met. It is the hands within your head as you get used to it all. It is,

It's supposed to hurt. You are allowed to hurt. You have to let yourself hurt. You have to bleed and be bled and allow yourself to wring yourself out. Please let it hurt. Please let it fucking hurt.
