Only now heard Fergus Kerr OP passed away. I never took classes with him but we had coffee/tea a few times in Edinburgh. Beyond is obvious brilliance, he was a warm and uniquely funny man. Friends told me his sermons were both rich and often cheekily anti-clerical.

Memory eternal!

Ever have an evening at AAR where folks drink whiskey, play guitar, and just sing outlaw country songs until midnight?

The hauntological aspects of AI are ruinous. Distrust news, distrust images, distrust videos, distrust writing… it’s an extension of the algorithmic and digital manipulation of all these things, but it arrests my attention differently, and ironically, makes me recoil from all of it.

There is definitely a connection between young converts and a conservatism aimed at specific cultural conversations. Despite this, we can also exaggerate this connection, as if American identity politics is the singular driver.

The BBC Scotland commentary for Kenny McLean’s halfway line goal is glorious. Stuff of dreams. 🔥

Reduce highway speed, tax cars on weight and mpg, with breaks for farmers and the like re: trucks
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."
