This was such a wonderful conversation bout a truly great book!
The last @landscaperesearch.bsky.social meet up was a rare event where group size & make up enabled a proper conversation started by @frankrennie.bsky.social around his remarkable book: Among the Layers of the Land. A thoughtful, deep time story of place in alternating factual & fictional chapters.

Today started in medieval Islamic Cairo, which dates from 10th century. After walking thru the impressive Bab al-Futah gate, we visited the beautiful Al-Hakim Mosque (10th c with 13th c minarets).
