My ancestors were slaves in Texas & were freed on June 19, 1865. They came together to meet with other ex-slaves & formed the Limestone County 19th of June Organization. They bought 30 acres of land on Lake Mexia.

We are all confused about IHSS overtime proposal. Is it 40 hrs. per week + a max of 50 hours overtime/travel as written OR 50 total hours per week only being allowed includ. reg. hrs, overtime/travel which would be a devastating income drop to in home/parent providers? @jasonsisney.bsky.social

I grew up believing that we had learned the lessons of the German poem and Martin Luther King Jr's speeches. We would all speak out if we saw democracy threatened and the rule of law under attack.
