Just finished Wearing the Lion by @wiswell.bsky.social . It's the best book I've read so far this year (and I've finished over 100). His Heracles takes a hero's journey into grief, forgiveness, healing, and nonviolence that is profoundly different. So now I'm rereading it, in case I missed anything.

Just finished Wearing the Lion by @wiswell.bsky.social . It's the best book I've read so far this year (and I've finished over 100). I just finished the audio book, "Death of the Author", by Nnedi Okorafor @nnedi.bsky.social . Coincidentally, I'd just read the essay "The Death of the Author" by Roland Barthes (as mentioned recently in Vulture) about the disconnection of art and artist. Okorofor's treatment is deep and satisfying.
