Please know we will do everything in our power to bring the perpetrator to justice and prevent future acts of terror. I am so grateful for the first responders who took swift action to arrive at the scene, provide medical aid to victims and take the suspect quickly into custody.

As Mayor Pro-Tem of the city of Boulder, I want to state clearly, violence and hatred have no place in our community. I also know that one of the hardest things to heal will be the sense of safety and security that this attack has stolen.

My heart goes out to the victims, their families, their loved ones and all who were impacted by today’s tragic incident. I know for our Jewish community this pain is compounded by the events in DC.

I am outraged and heart broken to see our community thrust into crisis yet again. I am outraged that someone would choose to violently attack our community, and It breaks my heart to see our community again suffer the aftermath of senseless violence.
