I did take on 4 different graphic novel jobs which usually took me 1-2 years of my life each and never paid much of anything in the end. But I took them because I didn’t have any other choices. I wish I knew my own worth in retrospect.
I've had to explain that no, I cannot pencil and ink a 260-page GN in two months, do you even understand the words you're saying to me? I've been asked to design characters, pencil, ink, and color a 200-page GN myself in eight months (I said no).
