I will continue looking at Rollerball posters until morale improves
Finishing up my first week at my new job of being the guy who says "Hey! How did you get in here?" when someone walks into our gang's clandestine headquarters. Here comes another one now, please not in the head this time.

I really love movies like this that are also half-photographic essays about their setting cities. Great showcase of Taipei here, all urban gloom and paradoxically lonely, a few measured and intentional steps short of being purgatorial.

Tsai Ming-liang’s later penchant for humanist slow cinema feels so obvious here, forming in the monotonous unhappiness of crowded city life, petty crime, and too-young disillusion. Nothing happens while everything happens, all at once and so unkindly, while the drains clog and apartments flood.

Tsai Ming-liang’s Rebels of the Neon God (Adolescent Nezha) (1992) is a slow burn anti-drama that never quite catches fire, smoking and sputtering as close-knit and mundanely miserable people take their mundane miseries out on each other, and it absolutely rocks. Wonderfully shot Taiwanese lethargy.

Just had one of the most disappointing burritos of my life. I hope we can all reflect on the lessons learned here and grow as fellow children of this good and bountiful earth

They should give one of those Star Wars Visions seasons to Genndy Tartakovsky. If he's smart, he wouldn't do it, but it would be a nice gesture

Either you understand that there is an organized campaign to push trans people out of public life with the explicit end goal of "morally mandating us out of existence" that is backed by some of the wealthiest individuals to have ever lived, or you're simply not equipped to grasp what's happening.

First thought is that Susumu Terajima is an answer so good that it feels like cheating. You get a bunch of movies by Kitano, Miike, Kore-eda, Katsuhito Ishii, and RAN.
This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor

On Mark Dacascos's Wikipedia page, due to finding out he was the lead in Saban's proof of concept Bioman pilot, and it's very funny that Dim Sum, a movie primarily about immigrant family obligations and expectations, used to be so weird and sprawling in its infancy. Like what was going on here?

The only thing getting me through the pain is that Nancy coaching a team with both Daizen Maeda and Kelechi Iheanacho is fun to think about
Sources: Celtic finalizing deal to name Wilfried Nancy their next manager.

Columbus Crew will get compensation. Now, Crew need to find new head coach.
