When Philip Ryther was forced out of the FAA in 1970, he set out to let everyone know what he thought about how the agency worked.

This is a fabulous "get": #Boeing Elects Brad Tilden to Bd of Directors. He's named to the Safety and Finance committees. Tilden is former CEO of Alaska Air Group. BA for decades was missing this. (Larry Kellner, x-CEO Continental had become a private equity guy.) Great move.

Dan Elwell faced investigations from hostile Congressional hearings, a criminal probe, civil litigation, an Inspector General’s inquiry from the FAA’s parent department, and in-depth reporting from many newspapers and television media in the months after the second of two MAXes crashed in March 2019, five months after the first fatal accident.

I went to the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum this weekend. He was a good & decent man who brought honor and dignity back to the White House after Nixon's scandal. Precisely who we need today.

That said, the signage looks like an auto dealer, not a presidential library.

I can not stress enough how wrong it is to politicize flight safety.

Last summer at OshKosh FAA Admin Bedford said no one in the Biden admin cared about aviation; now we have this from Duffy.

This attitude turns safety into a concept to be owned for political gain. It’s dangerous & pathetic.
Sean Duffy: "You all saw with the DCA air crash -- the last administration didn't see the 85 near misses" (Trump was in office when that happened)

The Federal Aviation Administration is completely in thrall to DOT.

The FAA Admin is nothing more than Sean Duffy’s assistant at this point.

He must be back in the office waiting for the boss to let him speak.

In 2018, then-Congressman Duffy voted for ADS-B waivers for the military in civilian airspace.

NextGen, the ATC upgrade, was part of the FAA plan under Buttigieg (& dated to 2003).

DCA is a federal airport. Congress wanted it busy, DOD wanted helo routes.

Duffy has lost the plot on what matters.
