Something similar happened on the evening of October 18th. They opened fire for no apparent reason other than the fact they were being filmed. See below for link:
According to Mayor Wilson the building is in a pretty disorganized state. Perhaps they can do some housework? Or go to clean the neighboring Tesla show room. I am sure Elon would appreciate that.
ICE cleared the area at around 5:00pm and 7:00pm for vehicle access. There was a third incident at 8:50pm. I am unclear why. It seemed unprovoked. Here is my video. @suzettesmith.bsky.social@portlandmercury.com
They opened fire on the crowd at 8:45pm with pepper ball bullets and released a bit of gas. Some one got hit in the leg. The other two times this evening were to clear the drive way. The only reason I can think of for the 8:45pm outburst was that the crowd was getting boisterous.
Thanks for all this detail Suzette. Not sure if you were the reporter leaving the scene I spoke to around 7:00pm. As an immigrant I really appreciate the fact you are there on the ground reporting this.
Registering your details allows you to read the article for free. Not sure how many free articles you get a month, but at least one. I have just registered to read this. Large libraries often have the print edition of The Economist. (I live in Portland, Oregon.)
@jamescomey.bsky.social All the best to you and your family. I really can't see how this will impress a jury given the previous lawyer dealing with the case did not think there was any evidence against you.
My first political campaigning week end was in Bermondsey back in 1989. It is the only seat lost to Labour in 2015 where the Liberal Democrats: (1) achieved more than 25% of vote in 2024 (2) have lots of councilors (3) have an active local membership
I am seeing Labour winning four seats in this prediction that they did not win in their 1997 landslide: Bermondsey; Rushcliffe; Hexham; and Portsmouth south.
Have I missed any? (I considered Truro and Falmouth, but I think the majority of that constituency was in Falmouth and Camborne back then.)
