Wealth taxes are back on the agenda – and Prof Richard Murphy shows why the data demands them.

200 years of evidence: capitalism funnels wealth upward unless govts intervene. So what's stopping them?

Sure. We're in this mess because we leaned too much on USA resources which left us unable to defend a European country against a nation with a tiny economy and tanks that get stuck in the mud. Why not spend what extra money we can find on the most expensive weapons which we never intend to use?
Europe needs nuclear weapons.
With Poland & other willing states Germany should develop national capabilities in coord w.
UK & France (which need to add rungs to their escalation ladders).

A mix of Continuous at Sea, mobile land launched & air delivered.

Brexit was a test run for politicians telling lies, it carried on without consequence

Now social media companies are removing fact checkers

What's the point of an Online Safety Act if it doesn't require platforms to filter out lies?

DAMMIT NPR.

I spent nine months upgrading over TEN THOUSAND desktops at a F500 client. The grand total was over SEVENTY THOUSAND applications upgraded.

Y2K "didn't live up to the hype" because the industry busted ass to duct tape everything first.

I doubled my salary by leaving the Civil Service.

I don't claim to have been a lynchpin or a massive talent, but I was one of a number of people who couldn't afford to stay.

Technical ability & strategic thinking is undervalued compared to managerial & budgetary skills.
And the pay erosion meant a lot of the best civil servants - particularly after 2016 when relative pay had really fallen and things got a bit chaotic - just decided enough was enough and hopped off to the private sector.
