Guess it's time to do my intro🧍🏾‍♀️

Hi I'm Jenna & I mainly write essays and draw things. Here's a list of my many interests:

Shows ☆ Doctor Who, Umbrella Academy, Skins, 2000s/2010s CBBC

Music ☆ Rachel Chinouriri, Little Simz, Leikeli47, ENNY, AURORA

Games ☆ Animal Crossing, Splatoon
And most recently, this essay on how compulsory sexuality affects me specifically and personally, in terms of how asexuality affects and allegedly "desexualises" my Blackness and lesbianism and why I'm tired as fuck x

Compulsory Sexuality Is Designed to Exhaust Us
Why asexual people are always tired.

Next is Aces Are White, Aros Are Green, But Spades Are Black. The most hurtful asexual essay I've ever written for obvious reasons but 1 that was needed. A deep dive into how the ace, aro + overall aspec community is antiblack to Black aces + aros & why.

Aces Are White, Aros Are Green, But Spades Are Black
On the (online) ace & aspec community’s antiblackness, once and for all.

Right off the bat is my piece about the Fifteenth Doctor. It's all about the overlap in Blackness and homoromanticism in terms of how these identities are often erased and demonised when it comes to the perception of "acceptable" asexuality

The Black Gay Asexual Potential of the Fifteenth Doctor (And Why It Will Never Happen)
On the erasure of Black and gay asexualities, sexualisation and queer possibilities.

Well, I'm an unofficial essayist so I guess it makes the most sense to plug my Black asexual specific essays! 🧵 #aceweek

First of all it has to be Infinince or Infinity? by Terence etc. It's the end credit song of Selah and the Spades and it really sums up Selah & the Black asexual experience - 'of course you're everywhere, except where you're supposed to be' 🥲

And lastly, these lot and Im actually not gonna elaborate on here actually x
In terms of headcanon, I have to say the Fifteenth Doctor. That's an achillean asexual Black man i dont care what you lot say! 😭Read The Black Gay Asexual Potential of the Fifteenth Doctor available on substack! And i support sapphic asexual Fugitive propaganda too xx

I have to give my props to my girl Selah Summers. She was the first canon darkskin Black girl to be aroace AND a lead asexual character. Whilst she's technically "problematic" rep, she was an older gen z, messy, multifaceted, entertaining character and I love her so much🥰
🖤🤎(BLACK) ACE WEEK 2025 - TUESDAY 21ST OCTOBER 🤍💜

Today my server will complete the activity...

Share a Black asexual character, canon or headcanon. If canon, say what they mean to you and if HC, explain why!

Because of the sexualisation of my Blackness, my asexuality, both pre and post 'coming out', will always be seen as an oxymoron, a contradiction and a confusion. But i dont care to be understood by those committed to misunderstanding me! 😌
Basically Ive come to accept that what's considered conventional asexuality will not & has never applied to me. I've never been considered a pure uwu asexual bc this is a form of white infantilisation & I'm not white. I dont have access to sexual purity as a social construct.
I face this antiblack sexualisation in asexual spaces too. I've lost count of all the white sex repulsed aces assuming Im sex favourable/non repulsed when they knew nothing about me. White sex favourable aces aren't better. (Tune in for Friday's prompt cus I have a LOT to say 🙂)
I've always experienced antiblack compulsory sexuality without even knowing what that was. As a darkskin Black girl, i constantly had people assuming i was more sexual than i actually was. From having boys as best friends to trying makeup, my actions were branded as sexual
To answer my own prompt for today, where do I begin? Blackness has and will always affect my asexuality. I cant never not link the two and I'll *always* bring up Blackness and race whenever asexuality is the topic.

How does being Black affect your asexual identity?
🖤🤎(BLACK) ACE WEEK 2025 - MONDAY 20TH OCTOBER 🤍💜

Today my server will answer the question...

How does being Black affect your asexual identity?
Once upon a time in catholic school, my friends were all talking about their dream wedding/husband/kids ratio & thats when i clocked i've never experienced sexual attraction to another human being before in my life. Googled asexuality and was like 'thats me' and here we are...
🖤🤎(BLACK) ACE WEEK 2025 - SUNDAY 19TH OCTOBER 🤍💜

How did you realise you were asexual?
