If you live in a major US city and have a mayoral race this year (like NOLA does), its probably important to know from a candidate how they would react if the federal government attempted to occupy your city. Should maybe ask. Idk.
I’m not even looking at right wing media currently, but I can almost guarantee that they’re showing a bunch of old footage of violent crimes happening in DC, very likely involving black or brown males as the perpetrators.

A fun reminder that a loss of 60,000 jobs in and around academia is ~50% more than all coal mining jobs in the entire country.
The US could see a 30-40% decline in new international student enrollment, resulting in nearly $7 billion in lost revenue and more than 60,000 fewer American jobs. https://www.nafsa.org/fall-2025-international-student-enrollment-outlook-and-economic-impact

I had a beer with a British guy once at a conference, and he said “everyday I walk past Westminster palace I’m reminded that I’ll never be in the ruling class I have no illusions about my class status. Americans think and vote like they will one day be kings.

I think about that conversation a lot.

3 years ago today SCOTUS overturned Roe. They took away a right that gave women autonomy and spared millions of children from being born into trauma, neglect, or systems that fail them.

This was never about protecting life. It was about power.

I stand in solidarity with all women. ✊

When analysts start downgrading McDonald’s stock because people on GLP-1s are eating differently and don’t want heavy food, New Orleans restaurants need to wake up and start serving more healthy options. My restaurant spending is probably down 90%, I’m just not interested in going.

If you're a Marine being mobilized to LA you've got options. Conscientious objector status is real. It’s in MCO 1306.16F. This is U.S. soil. You swore an oath, not blind obedience. Call GI Rights Hotline: 1-877-447-4487. They’ll walk you through it, no chain, no BS.

Imagine putting on all this tactical gear and latching onto a military assault vehicle so you can storm a minimall on Sepulveda and apprehend a line cook at family restaurant.
Heavily-armed DHS paramilitary forces in military vehicles fired dozens of stun grenades at a crowd of onlookers today in Los Angeles.

This is disgusting
ICYMI: Personal attorneys for Gov. Jeff Landry have helped write legislation that would allow Louisiana elected officials to spend campaign/PAC money on their home mortgages, country club dues, gym memberships and Mardi Gras krewe dues. #lalege

Mortgages, Mardi Gras and country clubs: Louisiana campaign funds could soon cover these expenses • Louisiana Illuminator
Louisiana politicians would be able to use campaign money on a much broader group of expenses under legislation Gov. Jeff Landry is pushing.

Husband is now on GLP-1 with me. He can’t believe how it has destroyed his taste for alcohol of any kind. He tried to drink a beer yesterday, ended up throwing it out after a couple sips. Tried to drink a bourbon and water at a reception, ended up leaving it after 2 sips.

Let’s look at the abundant lies Entergy is telling in this update on when power will be restored.

“Caused by Unknown”- no, you know it was MISO and “load shedding”

“8430 customers affected” - No, I’ve seen numbers from 50,000-100,000!

Why do we pay more for so much less? #nola

4 weeks on Zepbound. Have lost 12 lbs. There is misunderstanding about how GLP-1s work. It’s not cheating. It simply turns off the “food noise” in my brain, makes it where I am not interested in food that isn’t good for me, and am not interested in alcohol. I have started working out and walking.

This book has been so critical for me in educating myself about perimenopause and menopause. Once I understood how little education doctors get on this and hormones during med school, I understood I have to be proactive. It’s $2.99 today on Amazon or Apple.

I just really need everybody to understand that everything that’s happening in and to the global economy now (and all the businesses and people in it) is the entirely predictable result of the intentional decisions of one guy who doesn’t understand how the global economy works.

Another #GE repairman came to my house today. Said the all in one washer and dryer is “complete trash” and he “hates these machines”
If I save even one person out there from buying this thing, my work is done.

Week 3 on Mounjaro. It’s amazing how this has altered my thoughts about food. It’s almost “deplatformed” food for me. I eat, it’s just not a big deal anymore. I’m not driven by hunger. I also am still not interested in alcohol. 2 weekends of Jazz Fest and never thought about it.

GE All in One washer and dryer saga continues. It’s completely broken, not even halfway working like before. I have bought a new washer and dryer. #GE continues to send people to my house, because it’s still under warranty. Do they fix it? No. Do they refund my money? No.

Avoid at all costs.
