I posted this comic about how I used to have this theory that Quantim Leap could only have been made in the 90’s, but maybe I might have to admit I was wrong since they rebooted the show in 2022, but I’ve since come to the conclusion that I was still right!

One year, I think it was 2008, I went with my grandparents to the VFW in Oak Harbor for Thanksgiving dinner. It was pretty nice. I met a bunch of my grandparents' friends and they had like 20 roasted turkeys and 20 fried ones. I had a bit of both.

ai guys, much like evangelicals, assume we are simply unaware of the arguments of the other side. This is false
Nobody in the world knows the "truth" because it might be unprovable either way, but there are plenty of top AI scientists who have said it might be sentient

Aren't you at least a little bit curious what Geoffrey Hinton sees in these things? He's a mild-mannered man who calmly explains his position

The fact that we're still talking about the WKRP Thanksgiving episode demonstrates that there's a real opening for a modern television show to step up and create a perennial favorite

When I was growing up, my best friend up the street had a Great Pyrenees named Frank. Frank was a good dog
There are currently TWENTY THREE Great Pyr mixes at the Oregon Humane Society available for adoption, rescued from a huge neglect case out in Polk County. If you’ve ever wanted a LORG fren for your family, you can’t do much better than Pyrs.

A mildly funny two-minute video is generated. Six data centers come online. Forty gallons of drinking water are evaporated. The average temperature of the planet rises almost imperceptibly. Nine unknown species of beetle go extinct
Our dystopian future is looking light, bright, and just a touch whimsical.

I'm going to nitpick and note that those designs are from the later New Batman Adventures show. I believe but am not completely certain that the title cards are indeed from Batman: TAS

I've never used one of these LLMs, as far as I know, but when I read chatlogs of other people's usage, they certainly don't feel like real people, or conscious minds. They come off like obsequious, artificial machines. Is the average reader truly so lost?
No, ChatGPT is not conscious. Are the journalists who keep writing these fucking articles?
