You go back 40 years and you pull out Watergate where most of those involved went to jail and was condemned across the political spectrum. On the other hand you have Russia who does not permit free speech, procecute (or kill) anyone who speak up against the current system - And steal 100K children.

No for at totalitarian regime can never be a guarantie against a totalitarian regime. And people are fighting back because they know the dangers now. In a totalitarian regime where people has only known fear, that is not rarely the case.

Trump was allowed to take office because he won the election. And he won the election because too many americans are poorly educated and easy to mislead and because too many young white men did not like the fact that women outperformed them and their white priviledged lifeform was under threat

Far from the systematic actions of states like USSR, China or Nazi Germany. You can find singular incidents yes - But not the systematic removal, disappearing and killing of disidents for decades which happened in Nazi Germany, Russia, China and even the country you claim you are from - Spain.

And totalitarian fascist states - Spain/Franco and Italy during that time frame too... So again - your arguments dont fit. You seem very intent on supporting that kind of actions and I would be very surprised that you if you are spanish as you claim, would not recognize that.

Not all states has done this - only states who has had totalitarian leadership. So your arguments are flawed.
Totalitarianism where people are procecuted or in the worst case - killed - for voicing disagreements - well - Communist states are high on that list - USSR, DDR, China, PolPot, Nazi Germany

Nope - I equal totalitarianism with supression of free speech, jailing or disapearing political opponents or outright killing political opponents (or having them accidentially fall out of windows), sham elections or no elections at all. Both Communism and Fascism share those traits!

Hungary, Czekoslovakia, Polen, Kazakstan? Ukraine? Tibet? Communism and Nazism has a lot in common. Both demand absolute obedience to the state. Do you think all those people who were sent to re-education in KZ camps or Siberia see it any differently?

I've seen the russian "imperialism" in the name of "communism" personally and as I said previously fascism and communism has more in common with each other than with democracy.

It regulated companies. HUGE difference. All countries regulates companies. Environmental laws, laws against corruption, and laws protecting natural ressources. Those laws are approved by democratically elected parliments - so not totalitarian at all. A person from spain would know that tovarich!

One video does not say much. My maternal grandfather lived through it however so I think I believe him over a random video on the net. Totalitarian regimes exist both as communists and capitalist. The main trait is total control of every detail by the state.

You really don't know what you are talking about...Nazism was 100% state first as is communism. Actually most of the original EU members - Hungary def. not. it is totalitarian wanna be. But my guess is that you are living closer to Moscow than to Brussel. :)
