On Ivy Road's debut title, Wanderstop, our team worked on the fluid for the Tea Machine, which is the most interacted with object in the play space.

Can anyone guess how we were able to arrive at a see through fluid solution that barely registers on the overdraw view?

I have always wanted to find an easier way to make more stylized "hand drawn" lightning FX. I found a fun method using blender! I'm testing things out matching a scene from Akira :)

Did you know you can make a procedural ring shape with variable size and thickness using radial gradient exponential and sine. This basic shape has tons of use cases!

Did you know you can add camera distance fade to your material with Pixel Depth and a Sphere Mask? Make Clip_Distance equal Niagara Culling Distance to fade out particles and stop emitter spawning smoothly!

I just can't let these combat fx go! It was early on in production but I feel like I was really in my bag with these dash fx! The goal was to give players that #anime superspeed feeling and I really like where we ended up!

Did you know you can create a wing flapping material using vertex color, a sine wave, and a couple RotateAboutAxis nodes? You can use this for simple creature fx like butterflies, birds, etc

Did you know you could swirl your UVs using a Custom Rotator and Time multiplied by 2*pi? Pair this with refraction and you get a cool portal effect!🍥
