St. Lou was the original slacker town back then. So conservative, but cheap rents with lots of affordable housing. The place was filled with perpetual grad students and artists, you just had to look for them.

Streetside was like the movie High Fidelity with John Cusack. You had to be a regular (with credibility) before they would take out the good stuff, the REM EP or the new Prince demo.
