Good to see the vegetation on the Dereham Road cycle track finally cut back. They've done a good job in clearing the vegetation well back from the path edge - by at least a metre - and have then cleared away the overgrown grass back to the original edge of the path.
A cycle track alongside a busy road. The overgrown vegetation has been cleared from the path.

The green cross code is the most disastrous public information campaign in history. It has made generations believe that pedestrians are responsible for avoiding crashes. Crashes are actually the responsibility of the operators of the massive motorised lumps of metal.

While the Internet has had an impact, the main cause of the death of high streets is the out-of-town retail park. Any council which gave planning permission to a retail park only has themselves to blame for the destruction of their city centre.

This driver has caused one death and one serious injury in ten years, in both cases due to wildly incompetent driving.

He'll be allowed back on the road next year.

We need to just take some people off the road permanently.

No Kidical Mass ride is complete without at least two women riding unicycles!

"I love England and I love living here, I just wished the people putting up the flags did it with that sentiment."

Some great, straightforward, reporting of genuine residents' views on "flagging" here in Wensum ward.

A pleasure to work with @thatstvofficial.bsky.social and residents as always

🤔 Tube strike forcing you to rethink the commute?

🚴 Don't put yourself through the painfully slow bus or the painfully overpacked train - make the most of the September sun and ride into work!

You never know, you might actually enjoy it... 👀

Right wing media has had it in for Angela Rayner from the start - they couldn’t bear a working class woman being so powerful & dynamic. She made a mistake and has paid heavily for it. Very much hope she’ll return at some point in the future - our politics desperately needs more voices like hers

Car Free Day is coming up on Sunday 21st September.

It's a great opportunity to close your street to traffic for the day and turn it into a space for fun, connection and community!

The deadline to apply for a free street closure is Friday 22nd August.

Not quite as bad as @therestpolitics.bsky.social‬ when it comes to ducking talking about the Greens.
There was a direct Q on the topic which Campbell just avoided entirely the other day.
Given up listening.

Ahead of the expected proscription of Palestine Action - the first time a protest group has been legally redefined as terrorist - I went through the Hansard of the 2000 Act they're being banned under. Turns out MPs were assured the law wouldn't be applied this way. Thread 🧵🔽

Ok, an update on the Bus Services (No.2) Bill, which some people and organisations were trying to use to ban the use of floating bus stops which would have ended the ability to build cycle tracks in England in many circumstances.

The committee stage has finished and in this specific area,

I'm interested to know if this inserts clauses into leases. I imagine freeholder consent is required in many cases.

Well, turns out Reform had some difficulty with organising a pissup.
You'll never guess where it was to be held.

Another very uncomfortable looking collision at the junction of Nelson St and Dereham Rd.
I couldn't tell you what happened this time, but I can tell you that there are far too many collisions here.
A motorbike and a car both showing evidence of a collision. Out of shot another car is badly damaged. A map of the junctions showing a large number of recorded collisions.
