A real rallying cry for not only listening to a woman better but making sure we are ready to receive her and meet her needs

What about specific inequalities impacting women from marginalised communities?

Dame Lesley states: "Got to stop admiring the problem and start implementing action". We need co-production and to rethink the way we do things and train people.

We welcome the announcement of the roll-out of #HIV opt-out testing in emergency departments in @nhslothian.bsky.social and @nhsggc.bsky.social. This will identify new cases and ensure care - vital for the aims of the Scottish Elimination Plan, and ending transmissions.

Programme for Government 2025 to 2026
It will focus on: eradicating child poverty, growing the economy, tackling the climate emergency, delivering high quality and sustainable public services in Scotland.

This is welcome progress in reducing stigma around testing + allowing people living with undiagnosed HIV & BBV to know their status and be navigated into care. 👏🏿
NEW: The Scottish Government has announced new investment to roll-out opt-out HIV testing in A&Es in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

This will save lives and put Scotland back in a position to be the first country in the world to end new HIV cases by 2030.

I can’t bear to see any of that stupid anti-immigrant rhetoric anymore. Years and years of this nonsense taking us back to the past. How can humans still be doing this in 2025? The politics of distraction will never benefit the people but it seems that’s a lesson many are immune to learning.

A fantastic thread.
Section 28 didn’t come out of nowhere.
It came from a society where 75% thought homosexuality was wrong.
From a society that feared the sight of a man in drag would corrupt.
From a society that believed ignorance was better for children than any knowledge of gay lives.
