We wanted to shout out our friend and Lickability alum, @samhenri.gold, and spotlight a couple things he’s written, been working on, or brought to our attention lately!

First: an in-depth look at how he finds and crushes bugs in iOS apps he’s developed.

Tables, tables, tables! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

@revenuecat.com 1.7 re-introduces the Prediction and Cohort Explorer charts that were missing from the mobile version.

This required us to build tables, so… all charts have table versions now too!

Oura Ring / Whoop: With the introduction of Apple Watch Series 11, Apple’s Sleep Score feature means relying on one less wearable to track the data you want.

Have any other examples you’ve noticed? We’d love to hear about them!

Raycast: While lacking some of the depth, Spotlight’s new features allow for a similar workflow to what Raycast provides.

Bartender: New Control Center features have rendered apps like Bartender less essential for those seeking menu bar customization.

Flighty: Apple refreshed boarding passes for Wallet with Live Activity functionality, but Flighty’s robustness gives you the power to track real-time data and delays.

Partiful: Apple’s Invites app bears a striking resemblance to a propriety, iOS-only version of Partiful.

Sherlocking: a term first described after Mac OS X 10.2’s “Sherlock” folded in features and functionality from the popular 3rd-party app “Watson.”

It’s become commonplace with subsequent OS releases, and we noticed a few lesser examples in iOS, MacOS, and watchOS 26.

During our summer retreat, one of our engineers sought to streamline opening pull requests and writing good descriptions for them.

His solution? Equal parts Markdown and the Shortcuts app!

Our engineer Ashli is back with another 🚨 #iOS26 Bug Report 🚨:

If a preferred button in an alert starts in a disabled state and is subsequently enabled, the button’s background will remain greyed out. This occurs in both SwiftUI and UIKit.

People still seem divided on iOS 26 overall, but we’ve noticed most are impressed with the creative and elegant things developers have been doing in-app with this new toolkit!

However, she also noticed a concerning caveat when compiling and running an app with this modifier on Xcode 26: if a device is still running iOS 18, that app will crash.

…but because she’s awesome, Apple is now aware. 😜 Thanks Ashli!

One of our engineers came across a very useful and little-known modifier to control navigation link indicator visibility, and she wanted to let others know about it:

Some really nice tips in here for sheets on iOS 26, especially on hiding the navigation container background. 👍

If we want to take advantage of the new iOS 26 Liquid Glass appearance for sheets that include forms or push views onto a navigation stack in SwiftUI, we have do some extra setup. I've just published a post showing how this can be done: nilcoalescing.com/blog/LiquidG...
