What a blessing to have all this support for my ordination as priest (in curacy) at St Ursula's Church Berne of the Diocese in Europe. (BTW I keep my job at @unifr.bsky.social in the Biblical studies department!).

Thucydides, religion, and the divine? Here's my bit... "Le dilemme herméneutique de Thucydide: Comment décrire la guerre du Péloponnèse sans parler du divin comme Homère et Hérodote?", a chapter in this delightful Festschrift in honour of Philippe Lefebvre @unifr. amzn.eu/d/ghfAeya

Thank you. I’m considering a few possibilities; series in the Classics and Biblical research.

My interview with Steve Walton about his new commentary on the Acts of the Apostles (1:1–9:42). Classicists of all types (which includes biblical scholars!) will benefit from the depth of Steve's teaching and research! Thanks for your support and forbearance of my channel

A researcher and friend, after his presentation this week, was asked «  What elements could undermine your argument? »

Ouch…a bit too close to home…
« Some people may be clever enough to teach many, and yet be useless to themselves. »

As you can imagine, there are complex questions about what means by Greek religion. You might want to start with Kindt, Parker or Versnel. Harrison’s article is helpful for understanding how ‘religion’ is expressed via various genres.

Need a study/writing break? I love the beginning of Marc Johnson's album "Bass Desires," which opens with a killer intro in "Crossing the Corpus Callosum". Intriguing title with intricate mixing. Best heard with headphones 😉(The rest of the album is a little more 'normal'.)
✂️ Killer intro by Marc Johnson's band in "Crossing the Corpus Callosum"!!!
