Legally, the company has not taken your intellectual property; instead, it may have ring-fenced its permitted uses, in a very specific way. This creates what I'd characterise as a "legal DRM moat" around customer data."

…Nor have they ever heard explanations abt revs/read reasons in ICC’s commentary. Not that they possess the necessary bldg science knowledge necessary to process that information. Not surprising to see these folks take solid data & so often arrive at wild conclusions in that context, I guess.

I think a lot of the housing/zoning/build-more ppl on here have no idea what’s actually in the I-codes, why it’s the way it is, or the give-&-take that goes on w/ ICC’s 3yr revision cycles & subsequent AHJ adoptions (which don’t always happen on 3yr cycles)…
