I do at least have my substitute teacher licensure coming through. The actual license application has been approved. Now just pending the FBI clearance, and then I can apply to the three districts in my zone. And I do nothing of note so FBI is going to clear me. Just gotta wait for confirmation.

I think a lot of it comes down to me having to be a breadwinner, and typically the only breadwinner, in order to keep my little family above water. So finally having a moment where not only can people support me, but want to support me, it’s just really hard to trust fall on that emotionally. Like

As certified Terrified that I am about being supported by my community while transitioning to a professional career, I’m so grateful for the chance. I haven’t been in a position to apply to jobs I want instead of jobs to fill the belly in the last 10 years. It got my knees shaking but happy.

Had a Hanukkah party last night. Then before that was a movie marathon with friends. Had a great time. Ate way too much junk food during the day and then at the party had a whole bunch of cheese and fried potatoes so my tumtum was like 🤣🤣 but it was grand

Did a volunteer orientation. Then pulled a volunteer shift the next morning. I was there about 30 mins and they offered me a job LMAO. Thinking I’ll pass on it because I think it’ll be more valuable for me to be able to drop everything and interview.

Turned out my nurse doing my TB test has worked for the library system I’m trying to apply into for 27 years part time and enthusiastically encouraged me to try getting in because it’s a great place to work. So darling.

Trying to take advantage of being in a relatively supported position right now to start pushing my resume professional. Applying to entry level library jobs and law office jobs. And hopefully? Finally pushing over the hill to get enrolled in school. Getting the last paperwork I need for that

Repairing the edges of my quilt. The original maker did blanket stitching in embroidery floss (one of the reasons I recognized it as hand stitched in the thrift). The embroidery floss has aged to the point of falling apart (normal). So I’m going through and blanket stitching the weak sections.

Got laid off suddenly by my racist transphobic alt-right boss that I’ve been working for for 3 years. Right before Thanksgiving when she knows I’ll be traveling to see family.
