Susan MacWilliam has held a fascination with how humans have sought to document and quantify the spirit realm. Historical texts from her research are presented alongside other objects in her vitrine sculpture 'From the Artist's Library' (2025).

We missed yesterday due to ill health but it's a fav so here it is today.

On 25 Jan 1890, Nellie Bly arrives back in New York to huge crowds, becoming the first *person* to circumnavigate the world in less than 80 days (she took 72).

A Victorian photograph of Arthur's Quay in Limerick. What I love about images like this are the details, here we have a woman selling fruit, some chickens, a foal being held while horse is on the slip. Woman pushing a pram and the houses across the water. (Image LYMPA)

This section of O'Connell Street, Limerick is where the old Debenhams, Penney's and Arthur's Quay are today. Taken well over a century ago, all but one of these buildings has been fully replaced. Only the small shop tucked between the two larger ones remains (with the facade augmented).
