I’ve been watching two Red-tailed Hawks hanging out near the trees JHU has been cutting down, but today as we’re watching the Runner-Up Champion Scarlet Oak—the last oak on the hill—being cut down, I realized the back and forth flight behavior of the Hawk. There is a high probability there’s a nest in the tree. The Red-tail has been frantically flying back and forth and circling over the tree while they’re cutting it down. This scenario was exactly what I’ve been afraid of witnessing: the animals who are now paying the price for an AI building. @patterson_parkaudubon @marylanddnr
