It's official! My favorite retrieval practice resource unveils an exciting new name! I love that they see quizzing as the WAY with PLAY! Groundbreaking! Quizzing = learning.
Teachers took our quiz platform and turned it into something so much bigger. We're honoring that evolution: Quizizz becomes Wayground. Where every student finds their way forward. 🩷
I love this so much! How true!
@quizizz.bsky.social has become such an amazing learning tool. I find myself using it throughout the entire class period to keep students engaged and contributing as you can now embed formative questions into your slideshows and lessons. It's a dream for building strong retrieval practice.

The writing is simply beautiful and poetic. I loved Mal and Christopher as a team...along with the baby griffin. Rundell is such a visual storyteller!
Do yourself (and your family) a favor and listen to Ethan Hawke read The Eyes & the Impossible by Dave Eggers. I laughed, cried, and cheered. Humorous and uplifting to take you into 2025! I will not ask the ducks. www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-OL...

When I read the two prompts, I want to learn about the rat spilling crackers instead of the person spilling coffee. School librarians are masters at using animals stories for teaching and learning. Here's why this is valuable.
New research study finds including fictional animal characters in activities boosts young children's development.

"[School librarians] have more influence than probably anybody else in a specific building. Because every student that comes in there and visits that library is one of their kids." Yes! We are the only teaching staff that serves ALL students ALL year. The most overlooked role is your star player! 🤩
Thank you for saying this! This is exactly my experience in a middle school library. We are also in need of higher Lexile reading (these books are 550L-750L range). Most of our middlers should be reading at least 1000L (according to bands). We need more text complexity while being age-appealing!
