Deep Springs was set up in 1917 in its remote location to isolate it from the noise of the world.
The mission is and was to grow students into responsible citizens.
120ish years later, it remains a place that keeps the students focused on that myth and promise.
The desert is a constant teacher.

It’s so dumb.
Drilling in Alaska is expensive and the permafrost is increasingly unstable.
I imagine there will be test wells and very little actual production.
To justify the investment, oil prices will need to be much higher than they are now AND plausibly expected to remain in a high range.
