(I've long since got a legit copy of HL2 of course, and I certainly enjoyed the extra stability and lack of striders-induced crashes 🤡).

First time I played HL2 was a pirated copy (unpatched of course, so those damn striders loved to make computer crash with their laser, making the SE you hear when they prepare for fire particularly dreadful (literally :P).

Like those things needed to be more stressful!
