I'm a big geek. TTRPGs, Comics, Video Games, Board Games, Minis, Toys, Anime, Sci Fi, Fantasy or whatever random thought might work its way into my noggin. #dnd #TTRPG player and GM.

Seems like there is some 💿🐴 going around...
For some folks there are better entry points to #ttrpg games than #dnd or #pathfinder or the like. Some folks just want big narrative driven roleplaying and they thrive with minimal accoutrements or rails.

But some people don't ⬇️

For my current character, playing Hunter Set post WWI.

His main goal is to prove that he's not crazy. During the war he and his platoon wandered into a fairy ring and went missing. Months later he was found as the only survivor

Everyone assumed he was just shell shocked/PTSD, but he knows he

Watched the first episode of #RoninWarriors / #SamuraiTroopers

Its a continuation of the old show, not a reboot which is kinda cool. There's a lot more killing in it, although that's me comparing it to the US release of old show

Did not expect what happened to happen at the end of the episode

My first character was an Elven Thief (Yes we were thieves back then not rogues!) named Giles. Named after a character in the book The Dragon and the George.

Played him back in the early 90s for a couple years or so before he got killed by a Deep Spawn
Does anyone else remember their first Dungeons & Dragons character? How long ago did you play them, for how long, and what was their fate?

Mine was a half-elf rogue named Morestal in D&D 3.5e around 2006 or 2007. Only played for 2 or 3 sessions, but he did live!

Yup, totally agree

I like to give out magic items that do stuff rather than just give a +1

Sometimes it irritates me that some of my players would much rather have a +1 sword than say one that gives you luck points to reroll a d20 roll. Yes I gave out a sword that did this and they never used it
GM Tip: The best magic items enable new strategies rather than just adding +1 to rolls. A cloak that lets you teleport to shadows you can see is more interesting than a +1 sword.

Yeah, there's lots of things that the PC would know that the player wouldn't

If your character is a noble, there's a good chance they know who the big names are in the court

A military background you might know how the city guard is organized

A merchant might know what the going rate for gems is
FRPG Player Tip: Never be afraid to ask the GM, “Is this something my character would know?” You understand more about your character and their life than anyone else at the table, but not even you can remember all the things your character has seen, learned, and done.

Used to work at a Laser Tag Arena/Arcade back in the mid 90s. While I don't really miss the job per se, I do miss that time in my life (The people who I worked with there had a lot to do with it)
I remember watching people play MK3 while I worked and just going "How'd you do that?" and the regulars
Did you ever go to video game arcades when you were a kid?

I miss those days a lot.

Challenging strangers to Street Fighter II or Mortal Kombat.

Dropping in one last token before the death countdown ran out in The Simpsons, TMNT, or X-Men.

I hold those memories very close to my heart...

My Christmas present to myself just arrived! Yay!!!

But I'm still working so I can't spend time right now putting it together. Boo!

Finally picked one of these up but that now just fuels my desire to get the other two on my list (An SNK one and Time Crisis)

Honestly feel that this is a totally valid concern for our allies. Even if our next Pres swings completely the other way, most allies will still be going In 4 years it could all go to shit again
There needs to be real accountability, meaning rich white guys should be spending a lot of time in Prison
I don't know if the reputation of the US amongst allies can ever be recovered, regardless of who is in the White House or who controls Congress.

Oh god yes. If you are making someone else go out in weather that you do not want go out in yourself to bring you food. Always tip more than your usual
Let's do a fun Xmas thing. As we order delivery food during this SoCal storm, let's all overtip the delivery people. Like, madly.

Been wanting to run a #Feng#ShuiTTRPG game, but been stuck on a story idea. I have an idea I want to use for the intro hook and fight, but no idea where to take it from there.

Starts out with what turns out a case of mistaken identity, where the PCs each share a name with a merc for hire

So my #D&D game is going into its endgame. They have maybe 1 more session and then they barrel into the BBEG fight. Half the party has lost their magic items, I wanted to give them some new stuff but I wanted them a bit on the goofy side or maybe something good but with drawbacks. Any ideas?

Not just for blasters. It will make your melee combatants feel real beefy when they can mow things down with one hit too

Minions are a great way to make your party feel powerful
RPG tip: Throw in hoards of small minions to give blasters large groups of baddies to blast.

So I haven't been to conventions in a while and I recently realized that I don't get my usual yearly influx of nerdy shirts I would usually pick up from them

So where do modern nerds go to get their nerdy apparel nowadays?

Because this is what everyone wants!

To be crammed into a small chair in a pressurized tube next to some sweaty dude who just finished a workout and hasn't showered yet for a few hours
Duffy on what he's doing to improve the airport experience for travelers: "Maybe I want a workout area where people might get some blood flowing doing some pull ups or step ups in the airport."

Oh man, this just gives me ideas for yet another campaign

The players make regular people PCs (If not playing as themselves) Then they have to figure out their classes

But is a world that has had previous people isekai'd into it. So there's lot of anachronisms in the world
This just makes me miss my All-the-Isekai #dnd campaign. The Narnia children were dark dread gods who had corrupted the world with their presence. Alice was an assassin called the White Rabbit
The core theme was how outsiders reshape the world in their image and whether it is ethical to do so
#ttrpg
What Isekai TTRPGs are there? I'm trying to work out why this isn't a more popular genre.

So far we've worked out:

- DIE: the RPG, I suppose
- That one class from BREAK!!
- The Dungeoncrawler Carl TTRPG, I think, but it's not out yet

Found my old PSP (It still works) and most of my games. And I realized that I never did find a walkthrough of the Macross game. As I cant read Japanese so I have no idea what the mission objectives are

This and "The Monsters know what they're doing" books are great for GMs to help make monsters more dangerous or act more realistically, not from stats or attacks but by showing how you could use behaviors and tactics already built in

This book has been on my to buy list since I found out it existed
Looking for a gift for the GM on your list? MAKING ENEMIES is the gift that keeps on giving: You give it to your GM, and they give you encounters with weird, wacky and terrifying new adversaries. Win-win!

Find purchasing links here: spyandowl.com/making-enemies

A friendly reminder to any small seller that's having a Black Friday sale on your etsy shop or whatever

PUT A LINK TO YOUR STORE IN YOUR POST ABOUT THE SALE!

If its not there, I won't bother trying to find it or I'll tell myself I'll try to find it later and then forget and never try to find it.
