Ok I'm going to repost and pin this. If you THINK you're interested in Politics and understand Neo-liberal economics but have never seen how clearly Gary breaks it down, maybe you really don't know how there can be both 'not enough money' and plenty at the same time. It's up to us all to KNOW.
If you don't do something about the billionaire class...You have no choice but to shut the welfare state down that our grandparents and great grandparents fought for.

The most 'successful' grooming gangs' are the mega rich & the powerful who can afford simply to impress the young on many levels & take what they want. The kids can't help being 'interested' by sex money and power because their hormones & understanding are all over the place. The adults know better.
I don't know this guy but What bothers me is how long people in the 'middle class' waited to complain. Until the Neo-liberal ratchet reached them, in fact. Well they'd better hope the poor still have enough energy to stand side by side with them.
My salary is "frozen" again & I can't get research funding. We laid off most of our staff. My brother lost his government job. My disabled mom's health insurance is about to go up 10x. My neighbors' houses are all for sale.

The middle class is deep underwater and this billionaire MF keeps […]

Goes to show that calling it out works. Yep he deleted it Anyone remember what he was called? I forgot to block him myself because I gave him the benefit of the careless-post doubt. Maybe I shouldn't have as his timeline was pretty full of stuff that showed him to be a bit of an 'infiltrator' ! 😆
What a load of Bollox. This guy is NOT what he says he is in his profile. I'm no fan of Starmer but I recognise right wing propaganda when I see it. Day of birth abortion? What a trump-AI size slew of the brown stuff!

Exactly. I know some Brexiteers still hang on to the idea that it would all have worked out better if it hadn't been for pesky remainers or (insert other excuse). But the rest of the world need to put the blame squarely on his backers and of course on him for being the grifter who sold it to them.
What I don’t understand is why the British press don’t hang Brexit around Nigel Farage’s neck like a stockade.

It was the single worst act of economic self harm in modern British history.

Why doesn’t the British media force him to own that?
It's how we get a holiday occasionally 😆. 14.99 on Ryanair to anywhere. We go where the cheap fares take us often booking the flights there and back separately so we can change our minds about when we go and return without too much loss. Backpack only. Clothes we don't want to keep. Bring back new.
Good advice. We've had 2 'inconvenient' low electricity days. Paying greedy electricity co's is worse though! A little inconvenience saves THOUSANDS. You can buy enough panels an inverter and lithium batteries & have those paid for in 3 years of Electricity bills. A little more for installation
Oh yeah Our car is 25 years old. No payout on that if it's totalled. But we have 3rd party insurance by law. We're old and touch wood careful drivers. My ONE accident (my fault) was agreed with the other driver. I handed over 200 Euros for a ding in a door.
Car insurance is by law in Europe. We don't have any other insurances. I'm told Americans are always suing each other 😉 But Europeans... Not so much. We run the risk of v small loss, theft, flight cancellations. But mostly there's a fight to get insurance paid out. Saved more than we'd ever claim.
Effectively 70, for a large proportion of the population... is never. Many of my dearest friends died in their early 60s and I nearly did. Live now. Don't fall for their bullshit. Resist and keep resisting. You can do what you enjoy doing your whole life. Or you can try your hardest... 9/7 & fail.
This isn't USA. Not Litigious. We pay into the Spanish Seguridad Social system so don't need other Medical insurance. We don't (yet) have the greed of Big medical/pharma/insurance. They're trying to bring it in. What insurance benefits would we get from others apart from vehicle...which we have?
Sounds like a plan. TBH I never get onto the hamster wheel as it's harder to get off it. I never got rich. But I was never under anyone's thumb for very long. Had some tough times but have (almost always) been very content working only for myself. We moved to Spain live off grid on very little. 🤗
We have none except legally mandated e.g car insurance. When you have little to lose insurance is less important. It's very freeing financially. We do have a health system (in Spain) I benefited from it greatly a few years ago. That's the most important insurance which should always be mutual.
Fingers crossed my2000 tiny but capable Zetec engine Ford Fiesta stays strong. The bodywork is scruffy & the interior panels are worse but damn she's a good little car! Like me. Old, poor but has a good heart! Find your old heart & empathy as sadly ANY car and even LIFE is overextending for many 😢
Suggest he does the budget and cooks the dinners. My OH is a great 'Chef' & has to be quite frugal because he earns so little. So we *call* his income necessities and mine, luxuries. In fact mine often goes on necessities too... but that's life. He became 'the cook' because he's veggie & I'm not.
True. Language moves on and we can't shoot the messenger when old ways of speaking or receiving don't seem appropriate now, or new ways seem shocking to us oldies. But if anyone calls *me* babe, dear or darling and they aren't any of those to me, it will always seem deliberately demeaning.
Really? I clearly don't run in those packs. Never seen it before and it smacks of the demeaning language most often used at women. Maybe it needs to un-establish itself (dear).
Who are 'The Resolution Foundation' anyway? Big name...no meaning. I don't trust these Neo-liberal Think-tanks posing as caring organisations. I'd love to hear I'm wrong and that they are actually calling the Govt to account about their wholesale destruction of mutuality in the economy.
Absolutely the wrong way round. Expected though. It's all part of the Neoliberal Long-con of trying to prove that there isn't enough money for welfare, pensions & NHS National insurance. Worked fine until it was robbed and then destroyed. RAISE national insurance ringfence it. Lower tax on the poor
Last night Ruth Curtice, CEO of the Resolution Foundation, discussed how Rachel Reeves may fill her fiscal blackhole ahead of the Autumn Budget 💷

If an individual State in the US can tax millionaires more, so too can Rachel Reeves, Keir Starmer and the Labour government in the UK.
'babe' ? Unless the OP is actually your girlfriend this is not a good look.

Why on earth does Farage want us to leave the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR)?

Or the Greens & Your Party if they can get themselves together. There's not much socialist thinking left in the Labour party, funded as it is by vested interests involved in big oil, big pharma and big health. My fingers are crossed but I do think that there's an appetite for left leaning coalition
