No news from the north east today....
Joanna Buchanan, 40, from Barnard Castle bought the black 60-denier designer tights in 2007 and has worn them around 2,000 times despite regular tumble drying
North East mum wore the same pair of tights for 19 years - without a single hole

Thirty years ago Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen photographed this tidal pool for Writing in the Sand. The series is often remembered for beach life, but it also traces erosion and pollution along the North East coast.

“#York, The Castle 1851” is an OS rarity, & from our sample you can see why.
Some early OS maps were so detailed that floorplans of prominent buildings were included. It was soon noted that it wasn't a good idea to have the plans of jails etc publicly available!

Completely distracted towards the end of an otherwise good British Library Crime Classic as to why you would drive from Stafford to Whitchurch via Cheshire. Obviously you *can* but see no reason to even in 1930, unless the roads have changed markedly

This broadside recounts Jobling’s conviction for the murder of Nicholas Fairles, his execution at Durham Assizes, and the grim post-mortem punishment of gibbeting — one of the last in England.
