I wanted to share the happy news: I've just received a WIP grant from the Silvers Foundation for my book abt Denise Scott Brown and Robert Venturi that is also a story abt cities and misogyny and marriage and art. Congrats to the other winners and their fantastic projects.

Part of the tragedy is that the change to the imperfect system is coming from a place of cruelty & hate ... a piece of the broader tragedy in so many realms. intentions don't necessarily count for much, but I've been thinking alot abt good v bad faith these days.

Makes total sense. Seems like the youngsters (i am embracing my middle age fully now :)) who pursue this strategy don't want their social status claims to be undermined, like they've already invested too much for the hierarchy to not be there for them to sit atop it.
