“Britain has been in decline” says Robert Jenrick who served in the Conservative government for 12 years.

After an incredibly busy week in Parliament this morning I held a really busy surgery in my constituency with major issues raised including NHS waiting lists. I cannot understand MPs who are more focused on their own ambition than doing the job they’re paid to do.

It’s another Labour U-turn! My @libdems.org.uk colleagues and I have been calling for the Government to drop their unworkable and costly compulsory digital ID plans - delighted they have seen sense! www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...
Keir Starmer abandons plans for compulsory digital ID
Scheme intended to verify someone’s right to work in the UK will be optional, government admitted in 13th U-turn since taking power

Elon Musk’s response proves he has no interest in protecting women and children or preventing online harms. The Online Safety Act is already out of date but Ofcom should use its (limited) powers and suspend access to X in the UK. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Musk says X outcry is 'excuse for censorship' - BBC News
The government is urging Ofcom to use all its powers – up to and including an effective ban – against X.

Just two weeks into January and the BBC has already given us one of the best dramas of the year (apart from The Traitors). Waiting For The Out is beautifully written, incredibly powerful, and says so much about the impact of the prison system on families. A must watch. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...
BBC One - Waiting for the Out, Series 1, Episode 1
Dan’s first day in prison unravels as he underestimates his class – and his own past.

In December I raised the issues facing the hospitality industry with Keir Starmer. I’m pleased the Government appears to be u-turning on business rate hikes for pubs but urge the Government to widen this out to the rest of the hospitality industry.
At PMQs today I raised the impact that the Budget will have on hospitality businesses in Eastleigh and asked the Prime Minister if he would look again at an emergency cut on VAT for the sector.

Keir Starmer should condemn Trump’s illegal action in Venezuela.

Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, but unlawful attacks like this make us all less safe.

Trump is giving a green light to the likes of Putin and Xi to attack other countries with impunity.

Nigel Farage has pocketed more than £400,000 from GB News this year.

No wonder he's cheering from the sidelines as Trump tried to destroy the BBC.

Keir Starmer must stand up to Trump’s ludicrous legal threat and defend our BBC. The Trump administration wants to undermine our national broadcaster and interfere in our democracy. Shame on any UK politician who wants to see the end of the BBC.
Trump is coming after our BBC. He’s suing it for $10 billion, and the Conservatives and Reform are cheering him on.

The BBC must not pay Trump a penny. Instead of rolling over, it should sue Trump back for the lies he’s telling about it.

I'm glad Keir Starmer has listened to our calls for this inquiry following the Reform Russian bribery scandal.

Nigel Farage should be the first to give evidence.
🚨 BREAKING: Keir Starmer has launched a formal investigation into foreign election interference

It comes after former Reform UK Welsh Leader Nathan Gill was sentenced to over 10 years in prison last month for making pro-Russia statements for bribes

Deeply shocked and saddened by the terror attack on Bondi Beach. Thoughts with the victims and their families, the emergency responders, and Jewish communities in Australia, the UK and across the world.

This morning I visited Royal Mail's Eastleigh Delivery Office to meet with Ian and his fantastic team who are working incredibly hard to get all our Christmas cards and presents delivered!

It was lovely to be able to show Mr Speaker the winning design from my annual Christmas card competition in Parliament. He was very impressed by the colourful drawing by a pupil from a local primary school.🎄

🚨BREAKING🚨

MPs have voted to PASS our bill to establish a UK-EU customs union.

The Prime Minister must now listen to his own MPs, drop his self-imposed red lines and finally go for proper growth through an ambitious trade deal with the EU.

In last night’s debate on digital ID I urged the Government to scrap this ill-judged plan and turn their attention to the reforms that will genuinely improve lives. Mandatory digital ID will not fix our public services, get our economy going again or address the real challenges facing the country.

I wish I was surprised. Buried in this Budget is a plan to slash the Digital Services Tax, giving a multi-billion tax cut to US tech giants and the likes of Elon Musk.

That's right, cutting taxes for the world's richest man while hiking them for millions of hard-working Brits.
