This morning I visited Royal Mail's Eastleigh Delivery Office to meet with Ian and his fantastic team who are working incredibly hard to get all our Christmas cards and presents delivered!

It was lovely to be able to show Mr Speaker the winning design from my annual Christmas card competition in Parliament. He was very impressed by the colourful drawing by a pupil from a local primary school.🎄

In last night’s debate on digital ID I urged the Government to scrap this ill-judged plan and turn their attention to the reforms that will genuinely improve lives. Mandatory digital ID will not fix our public services, get our economy going again or address the real challenges facing the country.

It’s #SmallBusinessSaturday! Our high streets are the beating hearts of our communities. Shop local
and support fantastic small businesses this Christmas!🎄

We are so lucky to have amazing pubs in Eastleigh including the Fox and Hounds Fair Oak. Ahead of Small Business Saturday I was delighted to pop in for a drink and meet with Landlady Julie and her wonderful team.

At PMQs today I raised the impact that the Budget will have on hospitality businesses in Eastleigh and asked the Prime Minister if he would look again at an emergency cut on VAT for the sector.
December 3, 2025 at 1:23 PM
I spent the day talking to local businesses in my constituency about their reaction to the budget. They feel let down by the Government.

This Remembrance Sunday, we remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We pay tribute to them and all the veterans and serving personnel who continue to protect our freedom.
November 9, 2025 at 1:37 PM
At the debate on supporting our high streets I urged the Government to take action to revive our high streets, restore pride in our towns and put small businesses at the centre of Britain’s economic recovery. Reform didn’t even bother to show up to the debate.
November 6, 2025 at 5:07 PM
Ahead of Remembrance Day it was an honour to plant a poppy in the Speaker’s Constituency Garden at Westminster for all those from Eastleigh who served and who continue to serve. Lest we forget.

On Tuesday evening I was honoured to hold a debate on Support for Disabled Veterans in the House of Commons. Our disabled veterans deserve our gratitude and respect. They should not have to fight for support and care.
October 30, 2025 at 1:07 PM
Today I presented my Young Carers (Educational and Employment Support) Bill in Parliament which would:

• Require schools to maintain a record of pupils with caring responsibilities.

• Ensure there is a Young Carers Lead in every school. 1/2

I’ve signed this letter calling on Keir Starmer to rethink his plans for mandatory digital ID. A mandatory digital ID system risks deepening digital exclusion. It would disproportionately affect older people, disabled people, and those living in poverty.

I have written to Local Government Minister Alison McGovern along with my Hampshire @libdems.org.uk MP colleagues @dannychambers.bsky.social and @alexkbrewer.bsky.social to express our concerns about Hampshire County Council's plan for local government reorganisation.
September 16, 2025 at 3:43 PM
I’ve signed this @libdems.org.uk letter calling on the Government to scrap the two child benefit cap. My colleagues and I have been pushing for this in Parliament at every opportunity. It’s time to scrap the cap and lift thousands of children out of poverty.
September 12, 2025 at 4:12 PM
Following my recent visit to the Guide Dogs Community Team Centre in Chandler’s Ford I have written to the Leader of Hampshire County Council, renewing calls for HCC to reverse its decision to withdraw discretionary “top-up” enhancements to bus passes.

Parliament may be in recess, but I’m still here if you need me! To get in touch with me please email [email protected] and my team and I will do our best to help you.

Along with @libdems.org.uk MP Colleagues I have written to the Secretary of State and Minister to raise continuing concerns about Southern Water and the massive pay increase given to the water company’s CEO.
August 2, 2025 at 9:20 AM
Recently I joined @riveractionuk.bsky.social and the Test and Itchen Association to test the River Itchen at Bishopstoke. The results were disappointing - though not unexpected - with low biodiversity and high nitrate levels.

A few constituents have contacted me about the decision to remove the CCTV Cameras in Eastleigh town centre. I’m in contact with the local police and council and hopeful that a solution can be found. Meanwhile I’m continuing to call for a new police station for Eastleigh.
July 26, 2025 at 10:05 AM
I have joined with over 200 MPs urging the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary to recognise Palestine as a state now. The UK should be taking the lead on securing a two-state solution and a lasting peace.
July 25, 2025 at 8:37 PM
Happy Hampshire Day! Along with my @libdems.org.uk MP colleagues @dannychambers.bsky.social and @alexkbrewer.bsky.social I’m so proud to represent a Hampshire constituency in Westminster
