Coping methods—keep your hands engaged. You can’t manage your hands and your worries at the same time.

Creating something beautiful won’t make the problems go away, but it will give your brain a break from stressing over them.

I glanced down at the lovely shawl my friend made for me, and its equally stunning shawl pin. Some of you will know what popped into my head, lol. Sadly, it doesn’t have enough mass to spin, or I’d have fiber on it already.

This weekend's reading--back to Veblen's Theory of the Leisure Class. Despite some dated terminology, a very abstruse writing style and some Victorian vocabulary (written in 1899), no one beats his knife-edge sarcasm on the subject of conspicuous leisure and conspicuous consumption.

Is this not the coolest thing ever? It is a bobbin winder for the bobbins that go into a boat shuttle. I use those for storage bobbins for my spindles, since a spindle will not hold the whole amount that one typically spins at a time. Can’t wait to play with it.

One last spindle to show off…I snagged a Spanish Peacock on one of their unannounced sales, woot! I’ll have to dye some fiber to spin on it. It came with cutest ever little tiny braid of Targhee.

The extremes of supported spindles, lol.

The tiny one is a pocket (or travel) spindle, from Kravelli in Tbilisi, Georgia. The enormous one is the Cappadocia spindle from Fernando Santos in Portugal. My spindle collection so far is from all over the world 😊
