TEMERAIRE x THE GUNS ABOVE
Disabled after her steampunk-cyborg dragon is shot down, Keire still yearns to fight. Her new crew’s mission—take down the enemy’s most dangerous dragon—was set up to fail. And Keire needs to reckon with the fact that she is probably the reason it will. #2025Pit #A #F

literally me screaming at every single program offering to write things, summarize things, etc etc, via genAI

fuck OFF I didn't ask for this!! I like using my brain, actually, even if it's hard!! it's good for me and I like it!!
"I DON'T NEED YOU TO FUCKING REWRITE WHAT I'VE JUST WRITTEN!"
Not even Rin knows how many knives she has hidden on her person.

Does your main character use a weapon? If so, what is it?

I wanted two black and white ones that I could put side by side, but then I saw the narwhal and thought I needed that, too. Hard to say no at these prices.
I just got the armadillo and little owl and narwhal for myself, and the kingfisher for my mom for Christmas. 😊
Well, my new apartment has more wall space in need of filling as compared to the last one, and I also need to do some Christmas shopping...
How my dog and my parents’ dog feel when they’re together.
It's definitely not the middle, but here's from #HullWIP.
Anyway, I'm going to do a read of #HullWIP now for a palate cleanser, and then do another quick pass through #JustStabsWIP to make sure the edits make sense, and then it's finally off to the first readers. Yay, it's about damn time.

Bragging moment:

The original draft of #JustStabsWIP was 135,361 words. The latest draft is 115,740 words. That's nearly 20k, a full 14.5% shorter. Behold all those babies I killed. Especially when you consider there were a couple points needing expanding.

Did you know Sept 20 is International Red Panda Day?
(Brought to you by the zookeeper who had a sloth sneak up on her today.)
Remember:

You cannot startle a sloth,

but a sloth can most definitely startle you.
For the record, I will never write this book. But if someone else is inspired, please take it.
In hindsight, it should have been obvious, because the title was just the name of the food. Not "The Butterscotch Cookie Murders" or whatever, but literally "Delicious Butterscotch Cookies".
A book where there's a mention of some food right at the beginning, and then it goes off into this convoluted murder mystery, with the twist at the end being that it was all an absurdly long lead-up to the recipe for said food.
Good to know we all have a fallback career if our current plans don't work out.
It’s one of my favorite days! It’s International Vulture Awareness Day! Vultures prevent the spread of disease by eating up dead things that would otherwise rot. Thank your local (and beautiful) vulture today! #IVAD

(Also, vulture stomach acids are so strong their poop can be used as disinfectant.)
Today at work a little boy asked me where the panda bear was (in reference to the red panda, we don’t have a giant panda), only his annunciation made it sound like “candy bear”, and I propose that this now be used as an alternative name.
And I'd forgotten about to Heretothere, but that was a fun one! I definitely had the obligate joke of "Where are you from?" "Heretothere." "Could you be specific?"
The Disputed Zone is a constant war zone. Due to the influence of a magical Big Bad, Tempes Maris and Victoria have been at war for 100 years, but neither can win. It's a bit of a joke how often the one city (of an otherwise uninhabited area) changes hands.
soldiers are sent to to be this beautiful but deadly paradise. So Cicandria has a post on it to keep out the monsters that wander down from Atiara. Soldiers very rarely survive their five-year deployments there. 2/2
The Handle, as it's called, is super thin, just a kilometer or so at one point. Atiara is super isolationist, so they don't fight over it, but that's not to say there isn't fighting. I was inspired by subverting the Reassigned to Antarctica trope, where I wanted the dangerous punishment 1/
I think it belongs to Sancia. The name is a bit of a joke, because this is my story featuring dragons, and my pet bearded dragon is named Audrey. A little shout out to her.
Those islands are just... there, so we'll talk about Havelle, because it's where the story starts. It's not terrible, but there's definitely clear socioeconomic stratification, with the peerage at the top and a lot of problems for those down below.
It also didn't make sense. When the creature blackmailed him into making a bride, he needed to consult some dude for help. And it wasn't to buy time, he literally needed this guy's help, when he made the original creature without help.
