Enoch has been studying culinary arts since the Bronze Age. He is arguably the best in any world.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Ragheiyont is just learning what a quesadilla is.

I'm currently reading the only fantasy book I've ever read where elves are bad at cooking and the humans have cool enchanted cakes.

Anyway, how good at cooking are your characters?

Ezekiel had to provide for himself from a young age, so he knows how to cook a decent half a dozen meals. He doesn't "enjoy" cooking, but then again he isn't bothered by it.

Milos (dark elf): A couple of Home Ec classes do not a chef make; he lives off microwave ready meals and the staff canteen.
Alex (human): Grew up with the staff canteen; learned to cook out of spite and is excellent.
Simon (light elf): He can boil water? He hasn't burned down Jonathan's kitchen yet.

This is brilliant! Please, someone steal this from Kira!

I have a whole god dedicated to brewing potions and alcohol, but I have too many projects and not enough time to host a prompt game.
Idea for somebody who wants to host a prompt game in February to steal:

FeBREWary

Featuring questions about potion-making, poison brewing, or even beer/other alcohol-crafting in our fictional worlds.

Khonri and I were talking about prompt games and also the spelling of February, but neither of us

Jack- Really quite good, as far as home-cooking goes. He enjoys the kitchen and his friends/family enjoy his cooking most of the time. He can be a bit niche, though, and not to everyone’s taste.
Charlie is so pathologically bad in the kitchen she can ruin a microwave burrito.

The Singing Woods' canopy is so dense that lakes with their own thriving ecosystems form on the surface. It's a wooded and fungal cave underneath.

Later, we meet a frog god.

Enjoy 2 snippets from the second Sigils novel, Sigils of Blight.

It's basically the whole point of the Good Thyme Inn, tbh. Like, if they didn't have some characters who were good at cooking, what are they even doing? 😂 Parsnips is a chef trained at a world-famous culinary school!

In MoDaH, Steffa likes to cook. She teaches Tynan how to make some things her way

In Flight of the Fates, AL is used to uh…improvised cooking. (They've got a great recipe for fire-grilled sewer rat though!)

Molly can't eat food that used to be alive, so, cooking? Nope! XD The closest she gets is fixing hot drinks from non-living ingredients (salt, vinegar, honey*, etc.)

Most interesting answer: In DKD, Demons don't really need to 'eat' (they can, but don't need to), so when Hasava (demon) moves in with Kiseki (human) with the understanding she'll handle the chores to cover her part of the rent, she has to learn how to cook. It becomes a bonding experience for them.

Ashrah becomes excellent at cooking once she discovers the wonderful world of food!

Nitara tried cooking for Askaly when she was little but soon accepted she's a disaster in the kitchen.

Sareena adds spice to everything. Eat at your own risk.

Mileena never cooked.

I have PCOS. Without going into all of the disease's details, as someone born with ovaries, I have more testosterone than a frat boy CrossFit party by nature.

6 years back I told the doctors I wanted a kid. They had no issue giving me progesterone and metformin. I never felt healthier.
Makes me feel insane to live in a world that's persecuting trans folk while simultaneously doing big billboards advertising gender affirming care to cis people???

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

My process for who I follow is simple, but imperfect.

I'll follow artists, writers, or adjacent accounts if:

✨They don't look like book marketers (the scam cookie cut ones)

✨I don't see AI in anything recent

✨I like seeing random thought posts and a sense of humor
a cartoon of spongebob holding a fishing net with the words " it feels like " below him
Alt: SpongeBob SquarePants holding a net on his walk home alone and he says, "It feels like... SOMEONE WANTS TO SELL ME SOMETHING!"

They said I might get a free pin if I shared this.

Also you should vote in this. It's LITERALLY ONE QUESTION:

Do you support AI: Yes or No.

I'm not gonna tell you how to vote... cause obviously "No" is the correct answer.
Are you YES AI or NO AI? Vote now.
Big Tech doesn't care if you want AI or not. They should.
