This is a mostly writing Bluesky account, so my books are in fact being written. I just fell down a doodling hole.

Olivia Ocean, my crime lord, ex-slave, abolitionist, conjuror, isn't even a main character! I can't use this for promotion!

Anyway, I'm writing a bank heist where she's Calliope's LI.

Newspaper snippet from Sigils of Redemtion: TERROR OF THE BORDER WALL ALIVE AND USING THE DESTITUTE In a chilling turn of events, since Omera’s Blight, infamous Navikulan terrorist, Mattias DeLussier, was spotted behind Glass Bird Row, near Fallen Grace’s waterworks. Surviving witnesses describe him as wearing a green and black suit and smelling as rancid as the corrupted bay, with a jerky, unnatural gate to his walk. Homeless individuals who had not left the former capital had their souls ripped from their bodies, leaving lingering residents in shock. Authorities still in Fallen Grace are investigating the incident, though details remain scarce. Cleric to the Crown, Lady Theresa Ballas, has not been able to comment regarding rumors of harboring the known terrorist, citing the Emperor’s health. Order of Pegasus Paladin Commander, Jorum Gladium, and former Head of Palace Security, was returning to Fort Gladium at the time of the incident and could not be reached for comment.

Arcanafauna: Magical creature
Chimera: A classification of arcanafauna where it's made of many critters.

I have a lot of mixed up beasts in my world, most notably are calygreyhounds! Here's Thalia trying to explain what one is to a drunk circus patron in Sigils of Malice Chapter 1.
A calygreyhound from the Sigils books by Rebecca E. Reyes: He has a lynx's face and tail, a stag's body, antlers and back legs, and the wings and claws of a mythical eagle called a roc. I don't describe the jeweled toned wings in the books, but I had fun coloring them. Snippet from Sigils of Malice (Book 1): “Eh, lady!” A new stranger’s voice pulled her into yet another dis-traction. “What’s that thing?” He smelled of beer and unbrushed teeth. She did not want to talk to this patron, but the ‘thing’ he asked about was her beast. “This is Frendo. He’s a calygreyhound,” Thalia calmly explained to the man who could not read the plaque. “That’s a flying cat with horns!” Stinky Drunk argued. “Are ya tryin’ tah get one over on me?” Thalia looked over to see if Jacoby was all right before continuing with Stinky Drunk. A fire dancer had joined the child. The young elementalist assisted the fellow performer by lighting three apple sized balls of fire in his hands to be juggled. At least he was safe, even if his magic was not. Now Thalia had to provide an excellent experience to Stinky Drunk. “The name is silly,” she said. “Blame arcanazoologists who need glasses. Maybe they thought he looked like a dog from a distance, but I can assure you that you are correct.” Stinky Drunk was not correct. Frendo was only lynx in head and tail. Chimera arcanafauna were made up of many beasts, famous examples being griffins and pegasus. “Fuckin’ knew it!” Stinky Drunk took the victory. “Why’s it got other animals stuck to it?”

The Singing Woods' canopy is so dense that lakes with their own thriving ecosystems form on the surface. It's a wooded and fungal cave underneath.

Snippet from Sigils of Blight (Book 2): It only took a few minutes to get to the drop point, where a glittering lake sparkled in the moonlight, on the dense canopy. When they landed on the shoreline, Alderius looked down to see fish and frogs swimming in the crystal-clear water. The leaves and branches were as solid as earth beneath his boots. Below him, there was the trickling sound of a light waterfall. Iunden led him to the source. A rope was already in place, dropping deep down into the jungle to a distant and broad branch below. Snippet from Sigils of Blight (Book 2): Made of mud, with cattails and other marsh grasses growing off of their back, was a froglike spirit, their red eyes contrasting with their earthen ‘skin’. They spoke with a deep rumble. “The unicorns said it was broken. It looks strange for a human. What does it taste like?” “Funny. I would know.” Thalia butted in to distract the frog, just in case it tried to slurp up Alderius. Alas, the living humans didn’t understand the joke. At least Whispers heartily laughed.

Thalia died (again) when she met the unicorn god, Purity. He gifted her the lantern, an object that is technically a body part of the spirit.

Snippet from Sigils of Blight (Book 2): Next to the Saint of Passion was a unicorn unlike any Thalia had ever heard of. He was a god, double the size of the already formidable, bearded beasts. His horn was not a spiraling spike, but a singular branching antler with vines and lanterns hanging aloft. The spirit’s beard reached the ruin’s floor, shaggy compared to their long, silken coat of fur. Hidden behind flowering growths from the tiles were their glowing, three-toed hooves. “Purity bestows his guidance.” The beast’s voice was that of a young man, crisp and only just beyond the pitch of a child. His sharp teeth did not fit his soft tone.

Actually the line between gods, spirits and ghosts is very thin. How strong is the person? A necromancer shouldn't be able control a god or greater spirit.

Slightly a spoiler, but chapter 12 is one of my favorite chapters in the first book.
Snippet from Sigils of Malice: "Dammit bitch!” were the first words she heard through the pain. “I told you not to fucking die!” Everything hurt. Was this death? Do the dead still feel pain? At first, Thalia was blind. She felt her broken bones from the fall and the sting of the lightning that burned her. Thalia cried out in pain as she struggled to sit up. Arms wrapped around her, and she was lifted into a man’s lap. She clung to him with a tight grip, as if that would help. Truthfully, she was scared to be alone. “Zinnian?” Thalia grunted. She wondered how much pain he was in when he was murdered. Was he in pain the whole time? It concerned her. “Stay calm,” Zinnian still sounded furious as he comforted her. “It goes away eventually. What happened? Didn’t you still have one Laurel’s Blessing left?” Thalia’s vision adjusted and she looked up at Zinnian’s disappointed face. She only made it worse by choking out a laugh.

Inkara is a sea serpent, and the bonded familiar to an abolitionist living under the Imperial Capital from the first book.

I also have Krakens. We don't see one, but I want to visit the oceans around the Overworld and meet one. I named a whole paladin order after them!
Snippet from my world map for Sigils of Malice and following books. This one shows the Endless Ink, which is the name of the ocean in the Overworld. In the image are two depictions of the kraken. By the name of the ocean is an eye the size of a ship beside it for scale, with four massive tentacles reaching out of the water. The rest of the beast is hidden. Against the Island of Typhonas of the Terralia Islands is an artistic, symmetrical symbol meant to depict a kraken, only showing six of its limbs. It's caressing three sigils: water, a fisherman (looks like a man in a hat), and a fish.

Sky horn beetles! They're magical carrion beetle. Sky horns start coin sized once they leave the pupa stage, and can grow to the size of a human head.

They're conjuration familiars, meaning they have illusion and creation magic. Their ideal human is a necromancer because more snacks.

This is the one from my big map. It might be Ilgore, not that I think about it, so here's an older looking dragon for the emblem of the Draconic Paladin Order as well.
On an inky map is a very shocked looking dragon facing south. He wasn't ready to get his picture taken. As for the map he adorns, there is a thick forest to the west, mountains to the south, The Last Island South to his east, and north of him are three human settlements: Ashen Post, Sulphurton, and Basalt Bay (surrounded by basalt pillars). Ford Vitrium is marked on the map my a massive finned dragon head covered in horns going around it's jaws with a gear in front of him. They are near the hidden city of Syneth, in the Singing Woods.
