I wonder if @jhnenvee.bsky.social might have some commentary about @jay.bsky.team's apparent lack of accountability with the platform we don't know about, because his show called this fallout at *least* two decades ago.

So... yeah. That's pretty much why I have no respect for certain sections of OSRS's community.

In before defenders say "Oh you just haven't seen the shade RS3 players throw around, they do that too!", because no. I don't see it because I don't think they do. I think I'm an outlier in that regard.

And this typically means that they come onto RS3 worlds and start loudly bemoaning Jagex's corporate greed or cosmetics being obnoxious or what have you. To which I say, in all sincerity, find something BETTER to do with your time. If I wanted to hear it, I'd discard dignity and go to Reddit again.

And I think I have a pretty good read on why OSRS players do it, and it goes along with how my go-to commentary is that "I pay for a house, your mom pays your allowance".

OSRS players simply have more free time as opposed to the typical RS3 player. So, they fill it however they can.

I'm constantly at the Grand Exchange in both games. There is not nearly as much shade towards OSRS as there is towards RS3 on the opposite servers. RS3 players don't come into OSRS and bitch about potato graphics or the illusion of combat balancing (which I feel is worse in OSRS, FSOA snark aside).

So, why do I hate on OSRS's playerbase?

Frankly, it's because they're incredibly vocal about coming into RS3 servers, opening up Treasure Hunter for daily rolls, and then yapping loudly about how RS3 is trash because of MTX that, honestly, doesn't affect the game all that much in the grand scheme.

The reason why is that I'm looking at gamedev as a career opportunity, and I feel like I'm learning more through interacting with RS3's content than I am in OSRS's. This is not indicative of the quality of either game, of which I do have to give it to OSRS for just being more *fun* and *balanced*.

Ok but real talk about RuneScape 3 and Old School RuneScape discourse, since I don't think a lot of people are going to understand that I'm very much a "hate the player, not the game" kind of person.

I play both games, and I enjoy both games. I do have a preference towards playing RS3, though.

OSRS players: OMG WHY DO YOU PLAY EZSCAPE, OLD SCHOOL HAS BETTER CONTENT AND A BETTER ECONOMY AND A MORE ROBUST PLAYER BASE, EVERYTHING IS DRIVEN BY THE FANS AND NOT SUBJECTED TO THE IDIOCY OF JAGEX AND THEIR GRE

Doesn't it seem odd to anyone else that Boomers will joke about their cognitive and mental decline right up to and until the point they're asked not to have a presence in politics--then all of the sudden they're wise, revered, and have life experience that the younger generations need to appreciate?
