It photographs itself, really. But it’s still good fun to try anyway 📸

Doors, windows, headboards & late stage damp
A doorway, painted blue and yellow, where a fairly large buddleia bush has taken root within the nonsensical drainpipe system.
It’s a red brick building (former toolmakers & pin factory, now a charity furniture shop) with severe water damage all over.
Some of the windows are textured glass, but some are textured by decades of dirt and damp. A decayed headboard rests against the wall.

Matilda St, Sheffield Red brick wall with two painted blue windows, which are now aged and peeling and a wooden board rests on the ground

there is something funny now about seeing a surviving relic from pre-smartphone, pre-AI photoshop times. It’s like digital folk art

On today’s episode of things that only seem to get better the longer you look: this chip shop ad for your post-night-out-kebab

ft. three lovely ladies tucking into their belts of superimposed doner meat, with fake stencil fonts & 2000s Frutiger metro graphics
A poster that says “GREAT NIGHT, GREAT KEBAB, TAKE ME HOME!” with a big kebab, vectordelia graphics, and a fake Polaroid of 3 women sat in the backseat of a fake vehicle, edited to be holding pieces of doner meat. My favourite part is how the small kebab in the carton is exactly the same as the larger image. Fairly seedy implications all round.

Unexpected red in action
A side street somewhere in Brigg again
Flat roof building with wrought iron railings, painted brick, and large mucky glasbrick window that makes me wonder if any light reaches in at all really, the door is mainly even panels of reflective glass.
On the ground one concrete slab is missing which has made way for a burst of flowers which is nice The doorway and window of a large Georgian house in Beverley that may or may not be empty, something tells me it’s not. It has a red drainpipe and painted blue door. The windows are covered at street level

In search of weathered facades
A tired looking house and shop front in Louth
On the lower floor, the bricks have been painted with white and black trim around the door and windows. Someone has obscured much of the window from inside with pink paper. You can see the reflection of a pub in the shop front to the left facades that have seen better days in Brigg
Left side is pale but stained, with white security rails drawn inside. There is also a white sheet with Egyptian artwork scene/ hieroglyphs hanging in the window. I dunno.

Right side is painted lapis with a claret door & trim. The full length window is obscured with lace curtains and sheets. A small sign says ‘sorry we’re closed’ .. possibly forever

St John’s Church Hall, Brigg
A modern looking, simple church hall building with a large central window of glass bricks. A door on either side (but the left side has been filled in with concrete)
There’s a red sign on the railing in front which says ‘event here today’ Asymmetrical outhouse building in Louth
with a blue garage door & overhang. One side of the roof is pointy, the other a gentle slope with a planter (with only a few blades of grass growing)
