Admittedly my experience more matches Guillaume’s purchasing habits. I don’t have firsthand view of EAs internal metrics, but my broken business brain can’t make sense of this logic outside of a mindset that price increases are an infinite money glitch.

Last time I got a retail game at launch was Pikmin 4 last year? And Mario Kart World in the bundle I guess, cheaper than buying the game and console separately but far from cheap.

Suggesting games should be that expensive belies a misunderstanding (or no consideration for) price elasticity. Really tired of the onus being on the customer to make video game production sustainable instead of scrutinizing a ballooning cost of video game development.

The PS2 truly is the best console ever because it is constantly becoming more powerful. Each time we say something "looks like a PS2 game" we're talking about a game of a higher fidelity than the last. What the PS2 is capable of in 2025 is so far beyond what it was capable of in 2003. That's amazing
